Yes, It should Rekindle provided if we Glamorize the Game like Cricket. Though I like Hero Honda's initiative "Phir Dil Do Hockey Ko" but it still need more Boost.

Its been long that India has produced another likes of Dhyan Chand, Ajit Pal Singh, Pargat Singh and Dhanraj Pillai, just to name a few. Trust me, Cricket owes its standing to few great wins and couple of great players. Yes, we are a cricket-crazy nation but all we need to enthuse public interest in Hockey is another great player and a win too.

I am tracking each and every game of the tournament. trust me.. IT is bringing back the magic.. but India team needs to perform, so that the spirit says alive even after the world cup.

Sure, people always their with the support. You could see even in the loss against Australia whole stadium whole heartedly supported them. It is only because of the infighting within the federations indians seemed lost interest in between, I feel all indians will support INDIAN HOCKEY as they were supporting Cricket.

Yes surely it will rekindle Indian people's interest in hockey, but the performance of indian hockey team will matter.

Today we know that India is a cricket crazy nation, parents desired that their son must be 'Sachin'.

We forget the name of 'Dhayan Chand'. So its time to remind everyone about the great players of hockey.

Indian government should take step to encourage hockey at school level with new soul.

Hockey World cup can be rekindle if each other take responsibility to encourage hockey, as corporate sector familiarize everyone by advertisement in TV channel, news paper and hoarding, people take interest as in cricket & encourage the team for best performance, it is also responsibility of Hockey team to give memorable performance.

Yes definitely the world cup is going to generate some interest in Hockey just like movie Chak De came in and created interest of many in the game although for a short period of time but to make it for long term certain steps should be taken to promote the game just like the way cricket is being promoted by inviting teams for tournaments, series etc.

Yes This hockey world cup will rekindle interest of people all over India ,IF... A big IF, India win this world cup ,which is very unlikely .... comparing the strengths of other teams.Yes for now the interest has been rekindled ,even people in office who were talking about sachins 200 just a few days ago ,are now discussing how the match match between India and Spain will go... but that interest will be be shortlived once INDIA starts losing .... So INDIA needs to start winning big tournaments if they want people to watch HOCKEY....

All this is just temporary. No matter any game, stays popular among Indians till its World Cup period after which, their attraction again goes towards Cricket. This is India. Cricket is religion and no other game can ever raise its head permanently.
