Yes there are chances for India to adapt virtual recruiting. As Amiy said in this world of technology nothing is impossible. I agree with her that it saves time, money and energy of recruiter. It also helps to select the best talent with less time. We can recruit anyone form any part of the globe as per our requirement. So India should adapt this technology to attain fast growth.

The Technology has changed the entire way of functioning of all the business functions of all types of organization. Days are not far when we will have ONLINE interviews being conducted. Indian Corporates being a IT savvy themselves, will support it open heartedly. It not only will save time and money but will make the entire Recruitment process transparent. The recruiter can even record the entire process and use it for many purpose like evidence, training etc.

Yes, even i feel this technology will be encouraged in India too. The candidates who feel they cannot attend the interview all the way their location, shall be more benefited. Most of the company may be in the verge that this technology is quite expensive, but once they realize the real worth of the same, they would appreciate and make this more often for the recruitment process. ... .Thank you, Manish N Cheers!!

Hi!! Virtual Interview is a live real time interview in which interviewer/Interviewers and interviewee are located in a different geographic areas/locations.This is done using viedeoconferencing. Yeps, to an extent I agree with the above view that virtual interview will get adoption in India as the same is economic in terms of time & money, as the both interviewers/interviewee dont have to travel to meet at the interview center. Also the Virtual interview will make recruitment process l'il easier. On the flip side,it will involve lot of technical setup ,at both the ends(i.e at the interviewers end at the interviewee end),which means the same will going to involve huge investment in the initial stages of set up.So,I think all the companies wont go for the same. Moreover virtual interviews can not be used at all the levels of the management pyramid. Futhermore, the infrastructure is not up to the mark in our country, so we have to improve on that also,so that technical setup can be easily done. Concluding to say,I think that the virtual interviews can never get supremacy ,over the F-2-F interview as the later is more real and involves the real physical presence of both the interviewer/Interviewers and interviewee, this helps in better judgement from recruiters point of view. I would also like to say yes because students in their college have a great chance to express themselves.Actually they can not go outside their college during their study period. So it is a great chance for those students. Also companies have greater advantage for selecting skilled persons and companies will also show more interest in recruitment than telephonic interview.

Well this is a world of technology where more n more offices are going paper less and education is becoming virtual and by all means we are trying to shrink the world, then why not the virtual interviews? In these times of economic hardships when even the biggest of the companies were laying off I think holding virtual interviews will save a lot of time, money and energy for the recruiters. Though I do not support 100% virtual recruitment but yes the initial rounds can be taken in a virtual medium. This can be a great option for campus recruitment.

It will take some time to spread the concept but once it happens, candidates will love the virtual environment. It will be good for the people who lives in suburbs. I mean who would like to go for a 15min interview by travelling on an average of 2hours. And also my teachers used to say main thing that interviewers notice is ur Body Language & your facial expressions to certain questions. Its pros will be Time & Cost Savings for both the parties. And its cons will be like infrastructure for the system (Candidate's point of view), & at some point of hiring candidates have to go for final documentation. And also awareness will claim superiority over familiarity. People are familiar of virtual world but they are not aware of it.

Virtual interviews seem to have become a hit with recruitment managers across India as it is turning into a cost-effective and smart medium to attract quality candidates. A recent survey highlights the growing importance of this segment among the recruitment activity in India. It reduces time, paperwork, travel and expenses. Virtual interviews are environmentally friendly for both businesses and job applicants. Online interviews eliminate the need for paper resumes, applications, snail mail, and travel expenses. Practice, practice, practice! The Virtual Interview contains actual interview questions ranging from puff ball to killer. This interactive section gives you the opportunity to test your answers in a safe environment so that when the real thing comes along you can engage in a meaningful exchange rather than grope for a clumsy comeback. Some of these questions will seem more appropriate for new grads or entry-level applicants, while others will be for more experienced interviewees. Try your hand at both, no matter what your level, for the same principles apply. For the recruiters, the virtual mode facilitates savings on travel expenses of the candidates and company officials. However, one needs to prepare as it is different from the normal interviews. “There is always a temptation to look at the screen. But we need to look only at the camera while responding to questions. Good voice modulation is also important.

Yes it will find a very good adoption in Indian recruitment space. Video conferencing interview is definitely an easier and inexpensive mode of interview for outstation candidates. It is the future of recruiting, and a win-win situation for all the parties involved. Who knows, it may even replace the telephone interviews tomorrow.

I am afraid I will have to vote against this! It is true that video interviewing reduces costs, shortens the recruitment cycle drastically and it is convenient for applicants too. But, India is still not ready to embrace it just yet, because our job market is too volatile and competitive. I will share my practical experience (IT sector), where a number of our clients (large orgs) were attracted to the idea of video interviews for the above reasons, but eventually dumped the idea. 1) Most job seekers are invariably interviewing with a number of other organizations. To keep their options open they will readily agree to a video interview even though they may not be looking at your organization as a strong option. 2) Job seekers will always say that they are very open to relocation, but in reality this is far from the truth. For most job seekers, relocation is the last option unless they are looking to move back to their native place. 3) It is difficult to judge an applicants commitment to long term relocation through a video interview. In the end, video interviews proved to have little or no impact to the end result i.e closures. Regards, Om Deshpande

Well said mandeep, I agree with you. Recruiting is more appropriate only through direct interviews and not through virtual interviews. But it can be use in the initial stages for just screening the candidates. We cannot and we should not use it for final decision.

Going along wit kirti...i would like support seeing the scenario of the infrastructure of our country..........way the cat exams undergone which was held by the top management....which was just online test.......but when it comes to video conferencing u need much more advanced tech...which will take take lot of time to overcome the loophole in completing the above said.... at the same time a interviewee have to face the real world n real people..and taking this into account face to face interview is unparalleled to virtual one.... so i will like to conclude dat still lot of improvement is reqired to think upon these process to b undertaken.....
