Yes, for rough use... Since we dun have enough place for parkings, and we often got scratches in traffic which pinches.. but with Nano there is no "pinch" feeling.. just use it and love it and throw it.. !!

All can afford who wish to get 2 extra wheels..!!

I am not debating in terms of fuel economy or anything technical. As I am doing a project on NANO, I have gone through so many people "Will they really interested to buy this car", most of they said "YES", though they are interested to buy this car as per the economy factor, but out of which more than 80% is not having proper place to keep the vehicle. ie main problem car parking area. In capital cities, if you puchase a flat and if you really want car parking area, which may cost more than(even double, triple) the car price. I have read one editorial regarding the Parking place crisis, if you really want to purchase this car in the city like Mumbai, the space occupied by this car may cost around crores. Isn't so ?

But really for the people in rural and semi-urban areas it may is a good option.

Once again its really nice to see and accept things as they are! Well said Mr.Deepak you have proved a real option of making and thinking in originality. My hearty congratulations for your unbiased and thoughtful appreciation ... by the way i dont work for TATA... :)

yes ! Iam going to buy it!

Reasons : Iam relocating and iam gonna use this for myself.

I agree Mr.Kailash here on a profound logical reasoning so is my reasoning for it.

1. I will buy it becuase the place is though a city i will live in rural area so parking no big deal.

2. I drove BMW in germany for past 4.5 yrs , but my choice is again NANO as its affordable for my needs with a car , Importantly SAFE ( lets not forget the definition of safety and its criteria , it has all needed safety criteria with tis max speed , though a small car , Neck Injury criteria is also taken care , seating is good and commutation purpose its a fantastic safe car , if one drives in permitted limits of Indian driving and road conditions.)

3. Social value : I prefer bicycle like most summer i do here , but in India its a taboo to see a higher ranked professional to come in bicycle , i want to make a trend , but not before i prove of my ideas, so again i have a car i can proudly give reason why iam using it instead of a 4 lacs car.

4. Yes , i would also for that reason , though not my love for the car , but for the respect on the vehicle i would defnitely prefer a underground parking area ( Let architects change their habits of designing when parking lots are getting costlier ) and more so i dont see why one should have a problem if you can park two NANO instead of a combi comparitively JUMBO!!

As i said before , it fulfills real requirement of purpose and such designs are really my favourites , as they are my favourite , no offence is intended here towards any body!

Cheers guys , chill out and think a while , if every one boasts of their technology and make , we can definitely boast of TATA NANO, you know why , so much of technology and boasting which is a marketing , is up right down beaten to reality ...the name of reality is TATA NANO ...

As its NANO , dont expect it go aorund like a satellite , maintainence regularly which one needs to do themselves will definitely prove to have less rounds towards a mechanic ... dont mind guys , but if a person knows about his computer , though not a hardware engineer ...so its also important to know about the vehicle to maintain it ... beat it again big or small!!

Yes, i already booked one from Hyderabad. Have to see if i can get my hands on it for my july trip to India. It would defnitely be a fun drive .... Though not like a roof adjusting but , with low speeds and windows opened with kishore kumar songs , it would definitely be so , unless a dirty lorry smokes my feelings away! :)

i am just anxious and eager , technical specifications dont seem to be threatening anyway. That is defnitely very ideal for my parents , who drive slowly even with a BMW , as they just want to talk while driving and be relaxed!

My reasons were : Roll over protection-> length of the vehicle to its width makes it safe, and more over the C structure for roll protection & side impact module makes it solid for its max speed of 110/120 Kmph, Well Engine picks up after reaching 35 kmph , thats quiet not bad for  low starts as that one way avoids kick starts in normally crowded places like near temples , and side vegetable markets and so so . Seating place is good 21% more space than Maruthi , so i can imagine. Well finally less number of parts -> less maintainence, and good fuel economy. I dont think i can ask more for a 1600 Euro price.

Well done!

TATA Nano -> Chalo Mere Banno!

Tata Nano,˜the world's cheapest Car", was commercially launched on March 23, 2009. Its already into the Guinness Book of World Records for being the world's cheapest car.

Well there are plenty of reasons which make Tata Nano worth buying.

Affordable:
Tato Nano is priced around 1 Lakh rupees or 2, 500 $. This price tag is almost half the price of the current cheapest car in India , Maruti Suzuki 800, which is priced around 2 Lakhs. Tata Nano is ideal for two-wheeler owners looking forward to switch to 4 wheelers. Its also suitable for women, who would find driving a car safer than driving a scooter.

Fuel Efficient:
Tata Nano has a mileage of 21.97 kilometer per liter, under city road conditions, and 25.97 km/L on highways. This makes Tata Nano a fuel efficient vehicle, which will save money in the long-term. This mileage comes with a powerful engine of 623 cc with a maximum speed of 105 Kilometers per hour

Safe:
Tata nano has gone through the full frontal crash test according to the standard norms. Although it is 8% smaller than Maruti 800 (the current cheapest car in India), its 21% more spacious. It is a 5-seater, with an ability to carry heavy loads. According to Autocar India, though Tata Nano weighs a mere 600 kg, its robust and well-screwed together.

Environment Friendly:
If you think Tata Nano would increase pollution, think again. Tata Nano emits less carbon than two-wheelers. It also meets emission norms of BS II, III, IV which are Euro II, II, IV equivalent.

Well i think i would buy one to keep it around. it will be a good vehicle to have around when you need to just chill and go for an intown small distance travelling. as an additional car, i dont think it will be a problem. i think its economical, its with good milage. it solves the purpose for short intown trips.

today, even if i have to gift something to my parents, may be a small gift for their anniversary, i think its a good utility to buy and keep. at least there is one more option for transport for me and my parents. and i dont think the the second car needs to be a big car as i believe that at least one vehicle should be a small and compact one for easier access and smoother drive in the crowded areas.

and ya, my parents dont allow bikes and scooters hehehe.

yes, there is another point which i have head that its gonna replace rickshaws. well, when fiat padmini was a taxi, still people used to buy it as a private vehicle right? today most of the tourist vehicles are TAT cars or Qualis/SUMO etc .. but people still buy them as a private vehicle right? whats wrong with that? some people are worried about status, but think of it, if your children wants a car/bike in the college years? what would you prefer? a 50K bike or a 1.5K car? well i think thats one of the answers right there!

i personally believe that if there wasnt too much of waiting list, i would have registered for one TATA NANO myself.

YOU NEED NOT BOTHER ABOUT  AUTOMOTIVE ?!  AT  ALL
PARKING IS NOT AT  ALL A PROBLEM
PARKING INEVITABLE AGAINST  2 PER  BY 2 W; 4 PER FOR 4 W
ALL THE SAME

Sorry to disagree with you m a umapathy but instead of coming out with negatives, see the lot of positives associated with it and then you will also say that this is the car that is worth buying.

Why not, the car is so cheap and reliable, and coming from the house of Tata which has time and again delivered quality products, the average middle class family will surely go for a car rather than a two wheeler.

Tata did great job by introducing Nano for middle cast family. I love the nano car its so practical.. it would be good inversion for teenagers that are starting to learn how to drive, I think to buy this Nano because Nano have least risk as compare to bike and scooter so that we would u like to buy this car.

No, it has got a hell lot of manufacturing defects. People are lured by its cheapness however, a second-hand car would be far better than Nano.look at the marcopolo, Transport carrier by TATA replica of VOLVO somehow is so Mal -manufactured...

never...inspite of that i would buy and second hand car.. tata nano is a big failure that's why they are giving huge discounts and finance offers to their employees so that at least some of them could be seen on road...car should sound like a car not like a Chota hathi...(Ace).. It a big failure..it looks like a metal box fitted with a Ace engine in it..hh

From the design point of view, we can say yes the product is very good...but when you view it from a more practical perspective i think if you shell around 50000 more you get a very good product from othe manufacturers.....

As of now i will not buy this vehicle before going through the Field Report of 1 year. I am quite aware of the problems which plagued various brands of Tata Motors when new models were launched starting from Indica.I have got plent of eye witness accounts even till date.

It may seem cheap and economic but it may also be exorbitant to maintain a nano if it keeps giving trouble and not to mention of the various harrasments of going to the workshop again and again.

So let Tata Motors do the R & D on those guineapigs first and then further develop the product.I shall wait till then.I am in no hurry.

i do agree with murali krishna here that as already the car has created so much hype about the price factor, but then if all go for this Nano car, then parking space will be a huge problem, as there are no spaces left for parking these days in the cities, and with it being so cheap most of them will go for this car, may be in remote areas and rural places this will be good, for cities, the space will be cramped by Nano.

AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN  ARE  TWO  FOLD
1   BY  ENGINE  - HP, CC , FUEL
2   BY   ROLLING  FRICRTION
ANDY  BEARING IF  ATTACHED TO  CAR  REDUCES ROLLING FRICTION TO 50 % LEADING TO DOUBLE SPEED, DOUBLE KMPL FOR SAME VEHICLE, ENGINE, HP, FUEL/HOUR
ANDY  ENGINE  GETS  SAME  HP  IN  1/3  VOL, 1/3 FUEL, 1/3 CO2e
ANDY  NANO   600 KG  33 HP / 200 CC  220 KMPH  FUEL 1 Lit/HOUR   KMPL = 220/1 = 220
ANDY  NANO   600 KG  16.5 HP/100 CC 110 KMPH  FUEL 0.5 Lit/HOUR   KMPL = 110/0.5 = 220

Mr  CHATTERJEE
please do not make general  statement
make  numerical calculation with due  data support

FUEL / HOUR IS  110/20= 5.5 Lit / HOUR
FOR  624 CC  ENGINE   PETROL  FUEL  IS   5*0.624= 3.12 Lit/ HOUR   AT  5 Lit/ 1000 CC
WASTING 5.5-3.12 = 2.38* 5 HOUR/DAY*360 DAY* Rs 40 / Lit= Rs 169,200 / YR
EXTRA POLLUTION   2.38*2.325*5*360 =  99.6  T/ Year

TON-KMPL       IF YOU REALLY  WANT TO KNOW  NANO's  PERFOMANCE,
TAKE  TON-KMPL....NANO..... 0.6*20= 12 ;  MARUTI M 800....  1*16= 16 ;
HERO HONDA 2 W..... 0.3*60 = 18; AMBASSADOR....  2*14 = 28
