I think thats good move from th company side. Both the party is at at a win win situation as the employee would not have to undego any further training et al and simmilarly company would save cost in T&D.

I strogly support such kind of moves initiated by indian INCs.There are big navratnas i.e. ONGC,SAIL have already started this kind of move and it shows sucess rate was quite high. Many pople have turned back to thier previous company weather due to emotional attachement or due to having a kind of soft corner. But all in all it's welcomed by professionals.

Its is good to ask your laid-off employees to rejoin the company but may be they willn't like to join because they have lost there name and fame in the company, still it seems to be good from the company point of view as the company is either trying to compensate for its earlier decisions against the employees or the company is giving them a one more opportunity to work with them...

It is a method of rearranging or regaining the companies assets. Due to the lack of understaning with thelimitted time frame either the company or an employee might take a decission to get out. With the sufficient leaning with the time both can gain to the greater extent.

I it always good to rehire old employee because hey know company very well ,how company run.So company need not spend more time to train them about its company's cultural. And psychologically if we view it when company call old employee it always benefited to company itself apart from not require to give training once again them also chances of good word of mouth that this company were not feeling well when it laid down the employee. So that is the reason it is calling them once again to compassionate with these days.

Company is doing right thing .it shows that whether you are in the company or out side the company .Company will take care of you.As eventually company will also get benfit ,by not require to invest more time to train these employee because company might have invested more time to train them. And easy employee will adopt the enviroment of the company's.

It is a good startegy, since the employee are well aware about the organization culture and ways of working, and for Wipro they know the actual worth of the employees. Thus it makes perfect sense to go for the employees laid-off in recent past. However, I expect the HR team will this time not recruit people in herds, but would invest considerable time and effort in chalking out plans before hiring people for each vacant post. Hiring and firing people is an option. When an organization has to lay-off people it exposes the poor management policy and leadership quality of an organization.

There is nothing wrong in it. Wipro is getting a lot of projects now a days in India and the Middle-East thus it needs lot of employees as fast as possible, also they need to cater the growing requirements of existing accounts. Just a few days back the company hired 200 people in Saudi Arabia and Egypt and is also hiring for its Global Service Management Centre in Mysore with almost five percent jobs earmarked for differently-abled people. So, when it requires so many employees, then what can be the best option than hiring the ones whom they once gave training. At least they needn't spend extra time and effort because of the new ones. Furthermore, if the same employees are coming up with new skill sets, it is good for WIPRO only.

I feel its " No". How fare we can expect a man management or a E-E relationship there. When the company shake, the employee lose his all the good name and confident about the company. So if they reenter the company, the ll not much satisfactory about the work, and definitly have the feel of " Once again layoff". In another point of view, its a chance for them to prove the place, but how sportive we are is a question mark again.

When they fired employees stating non performance, then what is the point in them rehiring the same the so called "non performing employees" whom they fired. It simply means that they had given lame excuse of non performance to fire them. If they stand by their statement, then why do they need the same non-performers again? Coming to the matter of "Additional Skills", this is a typical business polish language. Performance is what you deliver, not what you know. So irrespective of how much more skills they (non performers) acquire, they are going to deliver the same.

I don't think its an intelligent idea. They were sacked out for low performance. They may have knowledge but what if they are unable to perform? Chance cannot be taken again. Its the loss of time and opportunity to get more talented employees. Moreover, in the past one year, if they studied new skills but lost touch from their old one's then ?
