"Why always womens have to think between their professional life and personal life. Why not mens think like this? When we said we don't have to create differences between men and women"

Dear Adrija, Thanks for referring this debate to me. Well I would second you in what ever you have expressed but at the same time I would like to draw attention to one thing that it is about matter of choice whether a woman wants to raise kids or go for a start up but since both of the jobs are so tedious and needs 100% so can not be done together, either of the two needs to be chosen to do the justice. We have some great examples like MS. Sudha Narayan Moorthy. Who being capable did not remain a active participant in formation of Infosys though she was capable.

A Sratup is very simmilar to raising a kid, and, I'm sure a woman has a inborn capability to take care of the common factors in both: 1. Confidence in uncertainities (not giving up) - not to think 'what if' the new born dies. 2. Catching the early symptoms of something going wrong 3. Dedication (investing herself fully) - extending herself beyond the call Rest is a personal choice, either can wait for other to happen first, not, giving up one for the other.

i disagree. Women today are more professional, have their priorities cut out and are much more serious than they were few years back. And more over, a start up is more like raising a kid.

DEPENDS UPON MENTAL SET UP AND BACKGROUND IN WHICH A WOMAN IS BROUGHT UP!! Adrija, You will be wondering, why I opposed your idea. It is because, the contention of "women are better at raising their kids than going for a startup", which you saw and supported is based only on narrow thinking. WOMEN ARE EQUALLY CAPABLE AT RAISING THE KIDS AS WELL AS GOING FOR A START UP. In fact, it is all conventional, not by application or utilization of talent of women. Nobody can claim to be superior than the other sex. Women can or cannot also be better at raising their kids than going for a startup. Similarly, women can also be better by going for a start up rather than raising their kids. Likewise, men can also be better at raiing their kids than going for a start up. That is another thing that women prefer to raise their kids. In fact, it all depends upon their mental set up as have been developed right from their childhood as infused by their parents, particularly by their mothers, grand mothers, and other ladies folks, depending upon the environments and circumstances in which they were used to live and face the life right from their birth till their mariage. Mental set up once formed by the rigors of attitudes for generations together is hard to change in any person. This attitude of the women being considered that they can better bring up children rather than going for a start up is only due to the contribution made by the attitude of their parents, grand parents and other neighborhood women folks, in bringing them up, particulars by mothers and grand mothers in most of the cases. The same thing can apply to men also, if they start living in similar environments and their parents just infuse the thinking in their minds that they can better be in raising up their kids rather than going for start ups. So, evolution of life is such that women are accustomed to or are forced to think that they are better in bringing up their kids than going for a start up. And all of us are used to believe that thought.

No, women in 21st century capable enough to handle both professional and personal life successfully. I personally feel, as a human being one should have some purpose of this life. talents should not go waste weather it is in women or men just for the sake of personal life. Every prob has solutions, therefore personal prob also have solutions.

It's a matter of choice, but typically a woman can do anything she wishes and that she sets her mind to...and in many cases, better than a man. As it has been said about the famous American dance team from the 1940's & 1950's, Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers, that Ginger not only matched each and every dance step and maneuver taken by Fred, BUT she did it in high-heels and dancing backwards! The real question becomes...as we are now seeing women in the US ask themselves nearly 40 years after the start of so-called "women's liberation"...that after they clearly demonstrate just how capable they are in business, industry, science, law, academia, goverment and the military, are they any happier or more satisfied with their lives than they were when they were predominantly housewives and mothers? And the answer, of course, depends on the individual woman, which is really where it all begins in the first place. The important thing is that men and society should neither stand in the way nor condescendingly applaud the decisions and actions of our "better halves".
