According to a survey conducted by US researchers women feel they do not meet their own high standards with family and workplace commitments when it comes to feelings of inadequacy at home and at workplace, women suffer more than men. They feel such perfectionism can have a negative effect on the work-life balance. According to the study of 288 adults, when it comes to feelings of inadequacy at home and at workplace, women suffer more than men. Most women feel the time they spend with their families interferes their work responsibilities and when they get home from work they are too frazzled to participate in family activities.

The study's volunteers, who work for 20 hours a week and have family commitments, were mostly married and 80% had at least one child living at home. At work, 38% of women did not feel they met the high standards they set themselves, compared with 24% of men. When it came to home and family life, 30% of women felt they were failing to meet the standards they wanted, compared with 17% of men.

So friends, do you really think women are suffering more from perfectionism than men?

As per my concern men and women both have some responsibilities including home and work. They are trying to mannage both cases but some times they also failed. One thing I would like to add men are not God, So they also suffer from perfectionism.

umm  !!!! yes i should say that women are more dedicated at work as well as at home as compared to men. And second thing which i would like to quote is that in terms of pressure it completely depends upon an individual and the environment in which she is working or living..

Well, Yes women suffer from "Inadequacy & Perfectionism ". They always feel that watever they are doing, they can do it much better way. but due to the family or watever they are unable to deliver it.

Yes, the reason may be that women feel more independent and respected at work and so they they want to do there work perfect, but sometimes it may come in the way of their own families.

In my opinion I need to but this statement as we have to manage both home and family. Stress and pressure is from both the sides. And people expect us to be perfect in both simultaneously.

It may be true for some women who can not achieve the standards they have set out for them. But in my practice more women are careless in their office works and got excuses from officers.(most of my experience are from government service..)

I don't think so. Men also manage their other responsibilities towards their family and society along with office. These responsibilities are equally important than home management for women. Men are also in tension. So, there is no meaning in saying women suffer more from perfectionism than men.
