According to my perception working in small companies is more beneficial in early stage of your career, as there you will get opportunity to learn more faster but at the same time you have to put extra efforts for that. After getting experience of 2-3 year in small companies , working in the big companies may give you better chances to groom more in your field.

i would rather go for small companies first because if gives you ample opportunity to gain experience and once u get adequate experience u can go for brand name............ If u want to go to top floor of a particular building u cannot directly jump to that floor either u need to use lift or staircase...... same way don't jump for big and take small small step....

In my opinion going with small companies is better after getting the knowledge of all sectors and after gaining some experience you can move to the branded one

Small company are more beneficial because we face different type of problems and our ability to solve it will be increased rather if u do job with brand yes definately u get brand name but due to big management chain the problem will be distributed in different levels of company management chain and definately u r ability to understand and solve it will be reduced u r potential will he hide.....bcz boss is always right

working in small companies help you (1) move fast in the ladder (2) get involved in every activity (all-round development) (3) contribute effectively in the growth of the company (4) develop proximity to the owner / entrepreneur to understand the nuances of the business which would help you promote yourself as an entrepreneur in future!

Join a big company first, take experience for 5-8 years, then join a small company in the middle management level and then join a big company in the higher or top management. Its very good to work in the top management in big companies. In big companies, it will take long time to reach the higher management level from the entry level. Better to work in the middle management in the small companies and try for positions like GM in the top companies after completing 15 years of the career.

all companies are good but the companies with a brand name are more beneficial as this give a new path & shaping your career in a much better way..also a lot of benefits are there by doing so such as you can gain more knowledge by going to a big company.

i think for growth prospective, brand is very necessary,as in the branded one u have a lot of thing to learnt and to utilize that in your future.brand has its unique identity and while with the small industry depend upon the person that how much he enhance the profit . he does not get anything from the company while the expectation of company is more than potential.

This is my experience with my two coligues. When I was working in a small company at Rajkot two candidates were selected, but One who come from welknown company got more salary than the other though he has less working experience.

Thanks for giving me opportunity to express my views on the comment.  My suggestion toward the whole concept of working in a big firm or a small firm is left to once prespective,  However, you take it,  I would say one should work for himself/herself, then take the aspect of big or small organisation.  Why I say this is It is better to be self motivated worker than anybody gets the hold of getting the work or any activity through you.  So  most important aspect I feel is work for yourself in every aspect of life.  I have a strong motto which I  got from R. K. Swamy/BBDO " Work Hard and Enjoy"  You will surely feel the pulse of the same.
