World competitiveness , Do we have it in us?

International Institute for Management Development (IMD) has placed India at 32nd spot for world competitiveness.. Then is there a long way ot go or we have nothing to do with these stactistics? It is all about how competitive we are.. How good do we feel about ourselves? What do you think , we have more competitiveness than this ranking says ?

I am not saying that 32nd position is justified or anything. All I mean is it is good to know that we are ahead of many other nations and that we have the calibre. Such surveys if taken in good spirts will keep us on our toes and we would be better than what we are.

I agree with this view.

India is ahead of several European countries ; India is ahead of Brazil and Russia. In fact , France is just 3 places in front of India.

All of us , in our hearts , know the problems in our country , and yet when some survey merely reflects this , we feel indignant ! Why ?

Let us all strive to improve our country before we take issue with surveys.

Yes i agree, that 32nd spot is not justified with the potential we have in our country but 32nd spot is also not APPALLING because we are a head of many countries, who are still nurturing to even get in the top100. May be in coming years we will be right on the top of list, as the present & future generations are very talented & gifted.

Usually this type of surveys are sterotype and tend to equate on yes or no basis.I feel that this does not reflect true picture for issues such as productivity.Productivity also depends upon remuneration,evironment for work,technological assistance,quality of training available for workers whose productivity is measured, social status of work. From my experience I can surely say the workers  of developed countries who enjoy a lot of benefits such as social security,medical assistance so on and so forth cannot be compared developing countries workers.

However if the parameters are same such surveys can reflect true picture.

Totally disagree. There wasn't a part I could comment this so I'm filling it in here. I'm possible that we can ever beat world competition. The pace that we run towards progress is too slow. Above least of the population thinks of doing something for the nation. Government is a BIG Impossible thing. NO NO NO
