Good argument Sabita, I support your argument "old is gold" is only for the old generation and not for the new young generation. The young generation are ready to accept the best. It is good to listen, so I will prefer the new one from now.

As they say "Old is gold" , it is a classic and was intoduced for the first time impacting all of us. Similarly the new version is equally good with today's generation participating and impacting the youth of the future. They should have included sportspersons and social workers too. C Sabita

I like the title Mile Sur Mera Tumhara, period! This version has a really good connect to the youth brigade. It keesp with the current trend and is quite aglamor filled anthem with the bollywood biggies in it as well!! I am with Radha and Mr. Aras!

Agree with Radha...overdose of bollywood creates some noise but it does not mean that it is not patriotic...sorry Smita..it is against your comment. Target is youth brigade...hence designed accordingly....old version is much better than this....but ITS A TIME DEMAND...

Commendable Yash, for the New version “Sur mile” the post with the visual. The old version was apt coz, it carried the message “Unity in diversity-India” which was understood by all genre. The current one I felt is Chitrahaar and enjoyed after a long time, the ultimate was Macho Sallu Bhai in his “rupa baniyaan get-up”.

Fuzel even I agree with you, the old one touches our soul. When some one listens to it he will get influenced by some or the other way and do something. Good debate .... thanks for sharing :)

Nice... I am amused to see few people saying "old Is Gold" is for old people and we new generation want the best. Common..hellow..I am much younger...to many here saying that.. And me and many like me will say.."Yes...Old is gold" and many things proved this..because we hate copy..a copy can't be as good as the original one. And yes..it does not sound good at all. Ya I am too in young generation...but that hardly makes any difference...because human beings are human beings..new generation does not have two more legs...LOL

I don't understand how the earlier version culd loose its shine and not make an valid impact on today's youth. Bcoz its so called todays youth who have opted the newer version as 'flop', i count myself in youth category if i may with due respect to all the elders and I completely resent the new version. And may I ask wht new optimistic idea these bollywood overactors(except aamir) can guide the youth towards? Ofcourse new generation is vouching for change but change that is based on unrealistic, unproductive & only glamorous foothold is not the one India is seeking. No offence.

Don't have any strong view on it. But this time it seems to be a company advertisement called Bollywood. Amir Khan changes the tune totally to match his style..His style is above the common tune. Missed Sachin..Kapil...and so many people in the jungle of film superstars (After all now a days India is run by them). And an effort to bring balance between religions----catches eye..and shows the hard work to bring that..and looks artificial to me.

The true essence of Mile Sur Mera Thumhara was captured by the original version - it takes into account the diversity of India and in the true sense a right song for national integration. The current one gives a very artificial feel to the overall theme - its national integration, classical music, wild life and diversities of India is missing - its more a national integration theme with Bollywood and South Indian actors. Even the sportsmen who have done our country proud are missing. I find this a poor remix of the original.

It was ok. But what got me thinking was that it had too many film actors. too few non film people..We hv stalwarts in other sphere too.. why cudn't the makers think of them.. We can think beyond cricket and films if we want to.. that's an indicator of development, i b'live

Sheer stupidity..no one matched the real spirit of patriotism. It was not reqd at all to make a mockery of such a geat song which actually depicted the core of Indianess thru all those involved. Each one who was involved initially were so real, so true to heart, we could identify with each one of them. Now they changed the tune, they brought film ppl who are not even worth anything. Instead it would have been gr8 to have all those earlier guys involved in the new one..Real nostalgic..
