Is Google getting monotonous??

In a recent news Carol Bartz the yahoo chief said that Google would have to "do a lot more than search" and suggested that it would have to "grow a company the size of Yahoo every year".

Ms Bartz made the comments when asked if Yahoo's sprawling network of sites and services had a defined brand image.

Yahoo is one of the largest sites in the world with an audience of more than 200m, It competes with Google in the search market, but has only 17% of the US market, compared to Google's 65%, according to Comscore. Yahoo recently did a deal to use Microsoft's Bing to power searches on its sites.

Google is going to have a problem because Google is only known for search. It is only half our business; it's 99.9% of their business. They've got to find other things to do.

Google has to grow a company the size of Yahoo every year to be interesting.   

So, what do you think people, Is Google getting monotonous?

I think yes, Google we remember only for its search and its gmail, and all the other products are nothing extraordinary, and with only these two products they cannot be successfull in future, there are people who are trying many things which can be as big as google or even better than that, you never know a some garage start up could become the next big thing if it gets the right direction, but yeah lately Google's business and its products are becoming monotonous and its high time they  diversify and try manythings which will help them in the future..would like to know what others think on this :)

you can not given our own point of view on this debate. u had just copied the entire paragraph of Ms Neelam Mishra. where is your own point/opinion about this topic

i think GOOGLE is more best & better than yahoo in many points

1. IN MAIL OPTION GMAIL IS SO NICE WORKING

2. IN CHATTING OPTION ALSO GMAIL IS WORKING SO GOOD

3. WHEN AT ANY TIME INTERNET GOES DOWN DUE TO ANY PROBLEM IF GMAIL IS OPEN ALREADY THEN WE CAN EASILY READ OR WRITE MAILS WITH OUT ANY PROBLEM

4. WE CAN EASILY ACCESS MORE THAN 100 MAILS ID FROM ONE MAIL ID (INCOMING & OUTGOING FUNCTION) WITH OUT ANY PROBLEM

 

in my point of view or working on google (with its products) & yahoo (with its products) I GO WITH THE GOOGLE ONLY

I THINK ONLY THAT SITE IS GOOD WHICH PROVIDE US EVERY THING IN NOT MORE THAN 5 STEPS AND CAN EASILY BE UNDERSTAND BY EVERY ONE

Yea, All the stuff of GOOGLE are more of an addon  then main line application.
But wait OS might  be something to watchout for.

There are some advantages in being monotonous, say reliability...

I'd be quite terrified if my trusty mail service becomes too interesting, or if my home page becomes overcrowded and too slow to load.

I prefer monotonous over a circus.

I use the orkut for connecting my friens and others,i use also Google Wave for new friend making,and gmail for mailing which its main and highly used by max peoples.Where we connect live with the G-talk and Google-Wave which is the best thing by the google.And lastly the google search engine is vary effective to find any kind of information we want to know about.We can find various place like own house,collage etc and mark it by a name suggested

I use google Maps to discover new places..

I use Orkut to say "hey its me again" to my buddies

I use YouTube to try new recepies n view  videos tht entertain me..

Also G-Mail n G-talk 4 day 2 day activites..All these applications r managed by Google Inc. n I never felt as if I am doing any Monotonous job..
