The organisations with less than 50 employees MUST offer profit partnership to the key employees. The key employees with their dedicated long tenure in the company, who have devoted the cream life span in upbringing and growth of the company should be the the criteria for selection. The sincerity and skills of such persons are worth rewarding because they were implemented at right time.

Moreover, the person with hidden talent talents might possess several such skills which he might implement during future. No doubt that such qualities can not be excavated and flows out at its own at right time. The offer of partnership would certainly motivate the incumbent to be more active and sincere. May be that such employees are boon to the organisation and at the same time such talent would never get attracted to lucrative offers made by other competitive organisations.

In a small organization, it is good to focus on offering proportionate benefits to the key employees. This may be a better motivational option. Partnership in a company also tends to bring other issues. Hence, care needs to be taken while focusing on motivating key members in a small organization through partnership / other options.

Yes key person deserving it....

But many factors depends on situation from the employer point of you say. Profit is more than remuneration paid by employer. And only for future prospects of business, employer may take this type of decisions.....

I believe thats correct Akhilesh, SME with less than 50 employees could think about such decisions. However, I also think that there are many other factors which come in to play while such offerings are initiated because whatever we do is for the benefit of the organisation, not the Key employee. So the decision should be thoroughly scrutinised before commitments are made.

Agree with you Akhilesh ,

The person, who has devoted his cream span of life for betterment of company with honesty and integrity should be offered for partnership.

NO. Dont agree. Look at Premji's statement of philosophy: Seperate Management from Ownership. Reward Managers. Dont confuse them with owners.

Dear Akhilesh this is an interesting point. As far as i consider this point, i suggest few more aspects of business to be considered one of them as follows :

Investment : this is a major and critical aspect of any business and owner or partners are expected to share the same. If we consider that we are offering partnership to the key employees ARE THEY READY TO INVEST in the organization ? If not how they will be eligible to get profit percentage ? and what if due to some uncertainty organization booked loss ? ARE THEY READY TO BARE THAT LOSS? Aren't these employees getting paid? Isn't this their duty to make organization more profitable putting best efforts? If they are putting their efforts for the company and also using few of hidden talents they will be benefited by increment in their remuneration then i don't think that these people should be offer partnership.

WHY. If the employee is "brilliant" them he can either buy himself in or be offered a partnership. At this rate you will have 50 owners each with 2%
