Youtube coming with Movie rentals: will you go for it?

Online video site YouTube is in talks with several major studios like warner bros, Sony pictures and lions gate entertainment about renting movies to users by streaming the New movies over the Internet .It would mark the first time the world's most popular video site would charge its users to watch videos i guess they are going to charge $4.00 for each movie, till now people used the site to upload videos across the world and watch it for free. YouTube, which is currently owned by Internet search giant Google Inc held discussions with all the movie major houses  about online movie rentals.

This move from google comes as there is very less earning from youtube's ads, as ads are the only way youtube is making money at the moment, Google came under heavy criticism from analysts and investors as it is costing them more than earning.

With change comes IPTV or Pay Per View Online. Sure some dont even know or want to know of computer/internet based movies, but with the change of times, more and more will. I have been building IPTV systems for 4-5 years now, and the growth in this market is huge, and youtube.com has subscriber issues and want to jump ahead of the curve.

Can it be done, of course. Will people pay? Well that matter who you ask, and at what cost. How does one secure movies being downloaded instead of just viewed?

I don't think this movie rental will work for youtube, as it has made a good name providing a platform where people can watch and share thieir videos for free and now with online movie rentals and that too for $4 is bit costly to watch a movie alone on your net, and with internet speeds in India i don't see it capturing people's imagination in that sense. Even though it is  a worldwide thing where other places have good internet speeds, it will difficult for youtube as from now there is some product with them which charges money, to go through this change for users will be difficult.....people will wait and download the movie for free.
