Already there is lot of piracy, unethical downloading and now this.. Who will go and watch the movie at theaters and how will they earn and if they don't will the industry live?

The Indian Cinema has survived the the threat of VCR,Cable,DTH and VOD, this is one more Video on Demand, it all depends on the copyright Act and time of release. On contrary it may boost the income of producers by giving them new source of income and decrease in piracy bcoz of easy availability of good quality of content online.

Given the internet penetration rates and the broadband speend in our country, i dont think this would be a distinct possibility. Plus they havent mentioned whether the movie is going to be a new one or an old one. I am sure our film producers will have checks in place to stop screening of new films within a stipulated date of its release.
