according to me it is not worth in calcutta where a retail employee get merely 4k-5k monthly salary and for more than 9 hrs, and in case of unloading packages the companies don't hire people from outside!!!

If the employees are ready to unload the packages and if the company is paying for it, then there is nothing wrong in this act. This is an opportunity for employees to earn more. But its not ethical, if company is not paying extra for this work.

I find it difficult to answer this question in holistic approach as today there are many retail formats location should be product/format/brand oriented . There can be hyper/mega malls which needs hell out of space or there can be fashion brands...
