During this period as a Junior resident in Internal Medicine, I had independently handled routine and emergency patients. I also had experience of working in intensive cardiac coronary unit and medical intensive care unit. I was also involved in carrying out invasive procedures like lumbar puncture, central lines, endotracheal intubation. I was also teaching undergraduate students. I took active part in academic activities like case discussion, journal club and seminar presentations. 2. Institution : S. L. Raheja Hospital Mumbai. Post : Clinical Assistant, Intensive Care Unit Duration : August 2001 to February 2002 Work Profile : S.L. Raheja Hospital is a 300-bedded multispecialty hospital. Its intensive care unit is modern and well equipped. I was involved in managing all kinds of critically ill patients of diabetic septicemia, chronic renal failure, stroke, myocardial infarction, post operative cases. I had the opportunity to learn from senior doctors like Dr. Argikar, Dr. Boraskar, (General Medicine), neurologists - Dr. R. Patankar and Dr. V.Chauhan, cardiologists - Dr. A. Ambardekar, and nephrologist - Dr. Merchant. 3. Institution : Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences, Mumbai, India. Post : Senior Registrar, Neurology Department. Duration : May 2002 - April 2005 Work Profile : Bombay Hospital is a 800-bedded superspeciality hospital and post graduate institute. It is one of the largest and technically advanced state of the art hospital and world renowned doctors are attached to this hospital. I have had the opportunity to work under neurologists and neurosurgeons, which include Dr. N.E.Bharucha, Dr. B.S.Singhal, Dr. S.N.Bhagwati, Dr. A.B.Shah, Dr. S.Khadilkar and Dr. C. Deopujari. During this period, I had the experience to handle routine as well as emergency patients. I could carry out individually, invasive procedures like lumbar puncture, central line and endotracheal intubation, I attend clinical meetings, case and journal discussions. Academic participation/presentation: Dissertation on A Study of lower respiratory tract infections in chronic obstructive airway disease for M.D. (Internal Medicine) Dissertation on A Study of Aetiopathogenesis of Young Stroke Patients for D.M. (Neurology). Case Report Motor Neurone Disease Associated with Hashimoto Thyroiditis presented at Bombay Hospital Research Meeting in the Monthly Meeting, 2004. Weekly General Medicine Meetings organized by Dr. K. Ramamurthy held on Saturdays at Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences. I presented the following cases at some of these meetings: a) Case of cervical myelopathy with rheumatoid arthritis b) Case of systematic lupus erythematosus with intracerebral bleed c) Case of benign intracranial hypertension following use of oral contraceptive pills d) Case of crossed aphasia. Weekly General Medicine Meetings organized by department of Neuroradiology held on Thursdays at Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences. Presented several cases. Few cases mentioned below: a) Case of intracerebral bleed secondary to toxoplasma infection in an immunocompromised patient. b) Case of giant aneurysm at the junction of right vertebral and basilar artery. c) Case of tubercular myeloradiculitis presenting predominantly with posterior column involvement. d) Case of HIV + patient with tubercular myeloradiculitis presenting solely with arachnoiditis. e) Case of multiple granulomatous lesion in brain, most probably tuberculosis. f) Neurosarcoidosis g) Neurocysticercosis h) Cryptococcal meningitis with HIV i) Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy in a case of HIV j) Patient with Sjogren syndrome mimicking multiple sclerosis k) Patient with CADASIL l) And several others including infectious disease, demyelinating diseases, strokes, lymphomas, medial temporal sclerosis, brain tumors, etc.
