Power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has told that soon half of India will get power private sector. In 2006 the particiaption of private sector was just 6% which has incread to 29% today. The benefits of privatisation are uninterrupted power supply , lesser power trips and no power cuts at all which comes at a little higher cost. The target for next five years is more than 100,000 megawatt of additional electricity capacity. Still the biggest problem is coal supply. Let us see how does the plan go and when is it implemented.
G SURESH  |  Commented  |  9 months ago
While it is true that the execution of projects is much better in the private sector when compared to the govt. sector, the overall addition of capacity is woefully short of requirements / demand. Reasons being problems in land acquisition, lack...

Knowledge is sufficient enough to bring out a right decision.
G SURESH  |  Argues in support of  |  9 months ago
There are some decisions in which knowledge alone would suffice in order to arrive at a correct decision for eg. decisions regarding investment / trading in the stock market. In fact emotions would hamper decision making in such cases. But there are...

When emotions get involved the decision can become partial.  Though it depends on what kind of decision is to be taken. We can never say that involving emotion would be good or bad. It will all depend on the outcome.

It has more to do with people who use electricity than the govt. The electricity theft is  a big issue. If we will try to fine all the people who are involved than half of the mid cap cities and rural area will be affected.   This theft is...

Thats a good thought Deepak, but if you are a performer and you are under a bad leader who thinks nothing but "his growth" and keeps shouting at you all the time, will you be willing to give your 100% to your job? If you don;t do best, then you...

While it is true that most of us have inborn instinct to perform, it requires support from your peers and superiors to perform. A good leader can draw out exceptional performances from his team with proper guidance and support. Whereas a bad leader can...

I would say the primary factor in evaluating a job offer is "Evaluation of the company and one's professional and personal circumstances". Future grwoth prospects will automatically be covered if the evaluation of the company is carried out properly.
Rathin Deb  |  Supported idea  "Future scope of growth"  |  11 months ago
Yes Diya where there is a good scope in future one should join such company. It is still better to find out the details through google search about the companies before accepting the offer.

China the world’s biggest carbon emitter, revealed its first energy-efficiency targets ahead of the Copenhagen climate summit on December 7. Beijing announced a “voluntary” and “binding” national goal of a 40-45 per cent cut in carbon intensity below 2005 levels by 2020. Carbon intensity is the amount of carbon dioxide emitted per unit of economic growth or GDP. Beijing’s announcement came a day after the US said President Barack Obama would attend the climate summit and present a plan to cut emissions by about 17 per cent below 2005 level by 2020. China and India, the world’s fourth-biggest polluter, are coordinating a strategy for the Copenhagen conference where nations will negotiate a g...
