I agree with Lakshminarain and do believe that the times are changing. Women not being in the engineering fields is just one of the employment areas. They were not in the Armed forces till 1992. That time jobs were restricted to non combatant roles....

I have worked in a company where we had strict dress codes. Formals 4 day a week. Before I had joined I was given a rule book which clearly read what one could wear and what not. I was pleased. Really I was. It took me a sometime to understand the difference between formal shoes and casual ones!! I learned following things: 1. Hand bag and shoes should match. 2. Shoes should be close ended ( wearing sox is compulsary) 3. Nothing flashy will be allowed. 5. Only crisp cotton sarees. 6. Salwar suit should not be glittery-glamorous. 7.
