I mean this is seriously hampering all, prices are too steep for a common man, its even giving a pinch to the upper middle class and the rich with this high inflation, and what about the middle class and the poor people how will they afford such high prices, and to top it all politicians giving comments like, people will not die if they dont eat sugar, and they also went further saying that it is bad to eat sugar as it will cause diabetes, this is absurd from the politicians to go on and say something like that. |

Budget 2010 has given relief to middle income group of salaried class. But, the lower income group has been left out. Added to the misery, increase in the fuel prices and enhanced excise duty is bound to have a spiralling effect on the prices of various commodities. If the middle income salaried class gets relief in tax and needs to pay more for fuel and other commodities, how come the lower income group meet this price hikes. Secondly, there was a big talk in almost every news channel in discussions with panel of experts that a big tax relief has been given for salaried people. India does not consist of only salaried people of oganized sector. What about the people working in un-organised sectors who are not supported by regular DA compensation for price hike. The only way to give relief to the people is by controlling inflation and controlling the prices of essential commodities. A meagre percentage of poor are covered by BPL criteria and atleast, are getting rice and wheat at cheaper rates. Higher income groups, including salaried employees of organised sector are getting DA relief compensating the price hikes. Rest are being crushed constantly by the increasing prices and inflation. Govt. should impartially, think about this section, which constitutes a larger chunk and do really something for their benefit. It is possible, for the Govt. if it tries to control the prices earnestly.
Thanks for the referral Sonam.
I agree with you that the first and foremost thing is to capture inflation, because the core of Indian people is the AAM JANTA. Along with this I feel that the government should make better investment plans, and schemes for uplifting people so that more and more people contribute towards the growth of oneself as well as the country as a whole.

Kill Corruption first before aiming for any new announcements because any benefits announced do not reach the right people. |

One thing we forgot is that lakhs of crores of money are hidden(black money) in the foreign banks. Its our 50yrs of indian budget money is sleeping there . Before few months it was seen in news paper that our indian politicians money are safe in Swiss banks. Hope if that money got back it would turn our country to be poverty less and no need of corruption.our dreams can come true one day.

Today we need to understand the energy demand and work on energy envelope, what kind of energy mix we should focus on and the govt. should promote use of renewable energy instead of the conventional energy. |

I think it is time that the government came up with 2 things....a long term blue print on how it will encourage use of non-conventional energy sources and how to encourage the same.
Some years ago I remember reading that non-biodegradable plastics were being plowed in to laying roads. This research project was done by some academic institution in TN. Such activities need to be encourged.
Similarly we need to give good tax benefits to those who buy hybrid systems. The use of both electricity and vehicular fuel needs to be looked at seriously. Green buildings, tax benefits to corporates who use the railways are things that can be considered.
While i am not an expert on the subject and some ideas of mine may be silly, I point out that i would like to see government encourage this kind of thinking in its budget presentation. When will our politicians realize that we need a green proactive budget and not a populist budget?

Not only the present budget of the government, The prime aim of all government of India and states should be providing equal right of living and education of the citizens. Until all the citizens of India feel they are equally responsible for building the nation, any number of budget cannot bring the nation in to progress. The price hike can be due to the loss of value of the money. The wages of a farm worker is increased to meet his daily expenses. This is a valued reason for hiking the price of foodstuff. Govt. is giving subsidies to help the farm sector and or the weak sectors. But until an individual is made capable of think free and act free the nation cannot progress the way we are expecting. So the prime importance on this budget should be right of education and right of living |

Dear Mr.Ravendra sharma, Thank you for understanding my idea. We have to grow further. I have a vision of energy also. It could be practical after may be next thousand years of research. Who knows. "ZERO POINT ENERGY". iNDIA should start research on the subject if not started yet. Finally after all points human cannot live with out energy. Hopefully this message reaches a group of scientists of India. Let us hope for the best.
Dear Mr Verghese,
Agree with you yet look at the irony that all persons in managing this country are educated and have thoroughly failed to even identify where all the problems are and how they can be corrected. Be it issues of abject poverty, infrastructure or simply how best to manage resources.
A thought process generated through EGO and POWER may be responsible to great extent in holding us back which certainly is not a product of lack of education.
I guess it is intent and will that may be missing else eradication of corruption and clarity on road map for future would never be so difficult.

"India's back bone is Agriculture " this sentence is seen in geography book nowadays, our Government doesn't take it as serious issue .Boom of Real Estate is nothing but appearance of hify multi-storey building with disappearance of Agriculture land and in presence of suicide of farmers. Proper management of agriculture land would be one of the solution inaddition I have personal idea that why government can take the agriculture land from Farmers for lease where govt can pay constant salary to farmers , so the farmers can work in their own land and all expenses for grains and manures will be taken care by govt .So all the yield from the land would be directly taken by Food Corporation of india. If loss occur Govt would bare that , Its far more better than canceling Agriculture Loan fully(5000 Cr)during Election by politicians. Its huge Loss .This Idea is difficult to implement in practical but it should be initiative . Our Indian Scientist Should be given more fund for R&D in Agriculture Sector . Then Preserving Technics of Food items as to be developed by Govt. Transportation for Food items should be regularized. These things are possible only when corruption dies from all and if we think our future generation should be good .Sure everything will go in right way .

It is extremely important that we expedite work towards any further reduction of agricultural land, Encourage rural employment initiatives and ensure health of our HEART. Most of all respect the grower and his well being and not let middle men loot and rule the roost through virtual's trade.
And since selling land rather than forever remaining in struggle to feed family may appear the easier option more may abandon hard work especially since it is not appreciated and cared for by those who matter.
The biggest block is presence of self servicing majority given to make policies and govern, may as well not allow a correction to ever happen as in their wisdom it is "Economics that feeds and not real FOOD".
Pradeep I agree with you. We should give more importance to the agriculture and provide the farmers some allowances in the process of farming. That will motivate them to do more farming and at the same time brings revenues for the country.

I have read the ideas and views of so many people here. The gist is everyone wants to be a good livelihood, Price control, corruption, inflation all these things are making a normal life difficult. In my opinion the major thrust should be on generation of employment. If we generate employment, there should be control on corruption, people should educate their children. In case there is price rise, earning people should be able to bear the short term thrust. The enter-pruners shall be given motivation to start their own enterprises and same time help the nation in generating employment. |
