A step towards greener and cooler environment

Yesterday I potted tomatoes in my balcony because I do not have a garden. I have Basil pot, Chritmas tree , Fenugreek and Few flowering plants which help in keeping the place cool. I can feel the differnce when I visit my friends who have only one Basil plant outside their house. CAn these baby steps of potting the plants inour own balcony lead to cooling of atmosphere?

Why not if all of us do it then certainly there will be a huge difference. When I was a little girl I wanted to become Miss Universe and then create Green Colonies using the money I earn. This is not possible now but then we can at least do something to make our planet greener, can't we??

FROM MY POINT OF VIEW,WE SHOULD ADOPT NATURAL MADE TECHNOLOGIES.WE CAN USE 1/3 RESERVED WATER OF EARTH(SEA) TO NURTURE PLANT OF TREES THAT OMIT MAJOR PERCENT OF OXYGEN.WE CAN ADOPT RENEWAL SOURCES OF ENERGY ALSO SO IT HELPS TO REDUCE THE CO2 LEVEL.I THINK PLANTATION IS ONE OF THE BEST REWARDING WAY TO MAKE AN ENVIRONMENT COOL AND PURE.IF WE PLANT TREES IT WILL LEAD TO RAIN FALL AND WE CAN SOLVE WATER PROBLEM ALSO. AS FAR AS TECHNOLOGY IS CONCERNED WE STILL NEED TO WORK ON CO2 EMIT ION.

Higher Solar Reflectance: Dark paving materials generally have low reflectance and, consequently,low SRI values. Gray or white concrete has a higher reflectance and a higher SRI value. Microsurfaccs and coatings over asphalt pavement can be used to meet the required SRI value. Coatings and integral colorants can be used in cement or cast-in-place parking surfaces to improve solar reflectance.

Vegetation can reduce heat islands by shading buildings and pavements from solar radiation and cooling the air through evapotranspiration. Provide shade using landscape fearures such as native trees, Iarge shrubs, and non-invasive vines. Trellises and other exterior structures can support vegetation to shade parking lots, walkways, and plazas. Deciduous trees allow solar heat gain during rhe winter months. Where tree planting is not possible, consider using architectural shading devices and structures to block direct sunlight. Solar energy system installations, including photovoltaics, can contribute to shading nonroof hardscapes.

Refrigerators & Air-conditioners,Generates Hydro chlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and Hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs)which lives a average time in troposphere from 9 to 390 years. Atmospheric concentrations of existing greenhouse gases are being increased by human activity, and the majority of experts believe that these gases are linked to Global Warming and Climate Change by way of an enhanced greenhouse effect. And So that to make our planet green and cooler we need to plant trees absolutely but not only planting is enough we also have to less use or need to find a different machine for refrigerators and air-conditioners. Our engineers have to work hard for that so that we can get a substitute for refrigerators,etc. But now only thing we can do is that try to turn off the refrigerators and air-conditioner's when there is no need.

Consider the characteristics of various CFC substitutes.No ideal alternative for CFCs has been developed,and some alteratives are not suitable for retrofits. Vehicles emit particular hydro-carbon that increase the heat retention in the atmosphere. this should be checked for cooler earth

Rain forests act as radiators in the nature, they should be preserved..

soaps and detergents are drained in tonnes into the earth. Though clothes do not need entire washing, we end up using soap for the entire cloth. By applying soap only to areas of a cloth that is dirty, we would be able to curb the usage of detergents and soaps that is like a slow poison to our mother earth. The last is slowing being rendered infertile

Drive your vehicles reasonably and more usage of bicycles, bullock carts etc

It is summer and sun is heating the earth for vaporisation of sea water which is routine work of nature.Now about human body have limited capacity of heat absorbing,over heating may cause death.So mix with nature not oppose it.Drink hot or warm water at noon,use onion in supper food.Wear cotton dress.If not necessary remove freeze and A/C.Use fresh bio products and leave refrigerator.Be vegetarian for saving animals supporting environment conservation.If summer is law heated rain will also less which is effect on our main food source and life.For environment all our activities harms it and it is very complicated subject it can not explain in some words but need 1000 libraries.

The green house effect cannot be controlled till we adapt alternative fuels for transportation and power generation. These are the major emitters of pollutant gases.

Avoid to use the petrolium products and use the other options like for cooking use a solar stoves n solar generators, solar vehicles and even for power also we can use the solar savers.... I think if we use solar energy means we ill surely save around 70% of our expenditures...

There's also concept of green wall, also called vertical garden, which can be used to cool and create ambiance. Green wall is space saving also. Then there's windowfarms...interesting concept.
