3G auction completed and very soon we will be seeing operators rolling out 3G services to thier customers. 3G allows a broader set of services due to higher speed achieved using this technology. 3G technology allows for Video, pictures, games, location services and even watching TV on a 3G phone.Anyone with a 3G phone can download and save video footages for later viewing. 3G also features the capacity to make video calls which allows the caller to see and talk to the person through his video phone. Pictures can be taken and sent to anyone at a quicker rate.Playing games can also be enhanced through faster games with better graphics. Location based services are also another feature that can be offered through 3G technology. This type of service allows for an individual to show or find out his location, or find a recommended place or service. 3G technologies can also provide an individual with the capacity to access TV channels through their 3G phones

What do you think guys that among 3G services what is the one which will be most used and can bring big margins for the operators??

I would prefer live video chatting......

3G is know for its fast video conferencing and that should be give for live chats too. Like in facebook, gmail etc.....

Of course. Video Chatting is going to be killer product with 3G, provided service providers can provide right quality network required for 3G service, for good quality video on mobile.

The private players like TATA DoComo etc. are already advertising how the experience will be with Video calls. I just love watching the ad where the gf asks the guy about the dress to be selected for a party..cool ad:-) Also,when there is a major event like announcement of Bihar election results etc. I prefer watching the news live on my 3G phone The indian market is getting ready to make the full use of their smart phones now

the major plus poiny in the 3G will be the convergence and availability of all telecon-video-chat-xxx-yyy services through a single network connection and without having to re-load or change applications

Please let me Explain my views here, 3G is a High speed data transfer band recently released to major Telco's in india, the main adv of this is in 3g supported area a user can now use the Internet Access at unbelievable speed of 21.1 Mbps offcouse if the device used by him supports @ around 1000 Rs. P. Month, if you compare that with a standard Broadband connection speed of 4 Mbps @ 990/- p month. you can understand what 3G can bring, and as far as the video chat or conferencing goes, there are soluitons available in mkt today which works even on 2G spectrum! Online Gaming

I will go for online games ..as presently I don't have any idea how many will want to see the video while they are talking,Seeing movies can be done on TV,Location based services will be taken by a very selected people.

Online games I suppose is the one has no alternative .

And Games generally continues for a longer duration and operator can set a more charges compared to telephony call.

Data Services [GPRS: Social Networking Traffic]

Data Services includes VAS, GPRS. Consumers are using social networking sites like facebook, twitter, so on on the mobile. 3g's and further technology's like 3.5g, 4g's intention is to increase the speed of data services so that consumer can use it those on their mobile itself.
