I feel, because of the fast growing nature of bamboo, it is classed as a renewable resource. Bamboo grows to its full height in only one year, though it is not harvested until it is between two to seven years old because the characteristic hardness that we associate with bamboo comes from the mature stalks or culms. May be because it is cheap, light, easy to work with, it is getting more popularity among customers |

I think, this is not the matter of eco friendly, renewable or something else. This is the matter of prestige, maintaining a hi-fi society by keep changing the things. Apart from this always there is a change in every thing like clothing style, interior style, changing of goods, electronic items and even changing of cars every time. This all are the matter of hi-fi society and keeping our self on top. What the new that is hi-fi and more attractive and bamboo flooring is one of them….the latest of interior deco. |

Well Abdul...i've never been to Dubai. So,i've no idea of the market there. But i have not yet seen bamboo flooring as any status symbol in india....Yes in a few places here, people use bamboo flooring to create a different atmosphere at home.
So, U mean to say that it’s not a hi-fi, well I have seen in Dubai it is and it is very expensive, it was not affordable by the middle class people. It looks that in India it is…….and I hope that’s y u agrue.

Bamboo has certain physical and mechanical properties which are comparable to hardwood, but still it cannot be classifed as hardwood, it is classified as a grass which is much denser. There are about 1200 varities of bamboo which have varying diameter, colour, structure and strength thus you can have multiple options. Also the history and economics of bamboo mentioned below makes it one of the preferred material. Bamboo has been used by humans since the last 4000 yrs, earlier it was only used for utensils and as a writing material, but as time grew and with the advent of better technology people started using it in more different ways. China is the biggest producer of bamboo and with chinese made products easily available in our markets, it has become all the more easy to lay your hands on bamboo products, also with the concern for deforestation taking the upper hand in our lives the uses of bamboo has become all the more important as it is a rapidly renewable material. Also, because of better economic consideration and government support more and more farmers are opting for bamboo cultivation rather than other options. |

The ambience of the buildings is enhanced with its natural setting. Abience is the richness of the surroundings. with richness of the natural colors the amience of the building interiors is incresed.Hope this is clear. It is Aesthtical. But we should be cautious where the presence of termites is rampant. |

I haven't seen any bamboo flooring in any of the places I have been to, though I have seen a lot of parquet and other hardwood flooring. If people are using bamboo flooring, I presume it is in the form of woven 'chatai' set in some resin and compressed to form floor tiles. Anything less would make this vulnareble to wear and tear and will deteriorate very quickly, with fibres becoming a hazard to walking barefoot on the floor. I think it is better suited to use as furniture material (still comes second to cane), false wall and ceiling panels etc. In rural areas, this can be and is used as framework for hutments. |

I agree with every idea posted here, but the most important factor is it is strong, doesn't get damaged even when it is in contact with water, cheaper compared to any other wood, can be recycled if painted or polished the life is increased in many folds. |

Bamboo office flooring make excellent corporate gifts that keep a green
earth in mind. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth. It
can grow multiple feet in one day, which makes it very easy to
replenish itself. You can also find bamboo office organisers |
