Yesterday, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee presented the Budget for the year. As an investor, there are many opportunities to invest in various sectors as a stake in the stock market, either directly through ownership of shares, or via mutual funds in the current  scenario. But the Budget can impact bottom-lines of industries and companies through changes in excise, customs, corporate taxes and other proposals. In my view, this Budget announcements are unlikely to have a major impact on the automotive industry, but the overall impact wil be on passenger cars, two-wheelers and tractors, As there is reduction in direct taxes for individuals there can expect a increase demand for passenger cars and also rise in disposable income will offset the expected hike in the prices of cars. The stimulas package has saved the sector, though growth can be expected in commercial vehicle and passenger car sales and also in exports as there is a sustained economic growth.
