Can we Reuse our old Pc's by using some Linux based application and put them back in Networking Environment?

Every houses,office premises in Metro's are having some old unused pc's .No one to accept those.Linux based os or Novell based Os can be used for them and some workable application for office use or for domestic use can be developed for them.Some Maintenance problem may be there.But If we think for simple DOS based disply they run well. For small enterprises ,factories etc who cant afford to switch costlier networking option can go easily for such kind of option provided these are supported by a good team of support people. May be this idea sounds very odd but to my perception penetration of computerisation in our sub urban/village world is still not much. So there is a wider scope in those areas.The real scenerio can be surveyed and possibilities could be assessed.An NGO can be formed with some expert network volunteer engineers who have some social mind and an experiment can be done. In case some one interested please let me know I can think some way out. Nothing wrong in doing attempt. Sanjoy bose
