The biggest problem in nation is poverty. When you do not have enough to eat you can do anything for money. The politicians are taking advantage of it instead of trying to erradicate it. |

Most of the Indian populace are illiterate. They are interested in short term gains. They dont care the vices of this greed for short term gains. The successive Govts. made them to look at the Govt. for everything. They dont believe in power of self-reliance. They can be lured with cheap schemes like free power, Rs. 2 Kg rice/wheat, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)etc. They know once elected the netas will never turn out to them till the next elections. They want to cash this opportunity. They demand money, liquor etc. from the contesting candidates to cast their vote. NGOs should work on this and educate the people appropriately at least one year before the general elections. Candidates are purchasing the tickets from the parties and votes from the public. Once they are elected they are shamelessly resorting to use unethical ways of earning money. This is a cyclic effect of corruption. People are the root causes of it. For politicians it is a big business. They dont have any ethics. Once elected from a party ticket, they are not hesitating to take otherside for money and power leaving the people mandate to its fate. Yes it is much more acceptable view that illiteracy along with the tendency for short term gain among most of the common Indians(partly due to poverty also)have become the playing cards of most of our unscrupulous and corrupted politicians.
Illiteracy and interest in short term gains is the reason for corruption im INDIA.Every individual mind is corrupted to make money, they does't care about ethics or society. The total system is corrupted, even this younger generation is got affected by this virus(Corruption). Schools has to teach it but most of the school are money minded, they just want to make money. To eradicate this problem people must be feel this is our country and we should develope it..... Atleast to save our next generation from corruption

Its simple, just for cash and vote, a country fighting with poverty, unemployment, inflation and corruption people killing each other for money, giving VOTE for CASH is not so significant for them. Politicians understand all the above things and take undue advantage everytime there is an Election. People are happy to compromise if they are paid, this is not just illiteracy and poverty it is the root from where CORRUPTION originates and spreads in the society. |

A party is blamed to use this money to save Government is one side the other being persons holding leadership position are available for a price. Of course those indulging are not living in a vacuum and are very much part of same social structure that critics are yet such elements get respect howsoever fake from other networked beneficiaries.... and the chain goes on thoroughly spread over entire society and those in exception find it harder to survive with each passing day in the process leaving "Honest as poor examples for youngsters to emulate".It is a chain and till broken with effort will take over. |

Thanks,Amrita for referral. The greed is culpable to instigate cross current of corruption. The desire for Wealth and Power sabotage one's ability to think positively and constructively.

Greed. 60% of our MPs are rich and elite class. Surely they do not need to sell themselves for a few lakhs. But as rightly greed can never be satisfied. But sad part is how people are ready to sell themselves for a few lakhs.

It is not just lack of education that drives one to get corrupt, but lack of core values in an individual drives one to wrong doings. may be i am speaking a little philosphical and many may not agree with this. The judiciary in India is not strong to overpower and fight against such incidents. Media only debates about it and may just do sring operations, but what's the outcome. The media or the tv channels are competing against one another for spicy news coverage, whilst the entire media industry should join together to clean up the system.

Any ruling government that goes into minority because of some alliance partner pulls out will force the Government to prove their majority to continue ruling! Cash for vote is one such issue to save the Government from such mishap! UPA-I faced this issue to get the Nuclear issue bill passed as per assurances given to the US. Apparently, they had to resort to horse-trading to save their government, and gone ahead passing the controversial Nuclear bill in the parliament. JMM bribery case was a glaring case to save the erstwhile Congress government to bail out PVN Rao then! This is not new to Indian politics!

Our Indian constitution is about to expire. But our politicians are very much concern about this constitution for the sake of them self. If you change its rules there is no longer live in their position. One people pointing to other by hiding their loopholes. So, people should educate them self to protect them self as well as our county.

A typical example of how deep even the topmost political leaders can stoop to retain power or to capture power with unscrupulous and undemocratic methods. The real whistle blower in this case is the media channel. The political party that arranged the sting operation with malafide intention to topple the govt. the MP's who were frantically running around offering to vote for money, the bribe giver who fell into the trap (it is the real story), are all deserve severe punishment to set an example. |

Somme of the politicos are shame on democracy, they are in politics to plunder public coffers, enjoy perks and reputation. They are not concerned with the sufferings of the common man. They change sides like cat and dog, show them the bone they will support you. The rot runs deep into the system.
