choo ching meng hachi chachi machi...said who djin tao (dont ever decode this - you may end up doing years of useless research). Did anybody understand the meaning of this?Neither you, nor me or even the world.

I am an Indian but the world atleast understands what am speaking. That is sufficient for the tortoise to win the race. Jai Ho! Jai Hind!

Makes me wonder if the “Hare will ever take a rest?” or the “Tortoise ever wake up from its slumber?”

They may be an oppressive regime in China and the communists might treat the labour as slaves, but still they are getting way ahead in terms of technology than what we do.

Wonder if we would ever catch up….

This is what the Indian PM said of China

idea posted by Rajeev Sharma Strategic Analyst, Columnist, Publishing
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh came up with unusually candid remarks on China during his meeting with editors in September 2010, though apparently he did not want to go on record. Nonetheless his remarks were widely quoted by mainstream print media. Singh said that China wanted to keep India bogged down in South Asia by playing on Indo-Pak tensions. Sample a couple of quotes of Manmohan Singh on the subject: “India had to take adequate precautions but not give up hope of peaceful resolution of issues with China…in reaction to ‘pinpricks’ by Beijing on Jammu and Kashmir and other issues.” “China would like to have a foothold in South Asia and we have to reflect on this reality. We have to be aware of this.” This is the first time when Indian assessment of China was articulated at the highest level in the public domain. Significantly, Singh’s remarks on China came close on the heels of reports of some eleven thousand Chinese troops in Gilgit-Baltistan area of Jammu and Kashmir which India considers as its own territory. India has not come up with any counter to the presence of PLA troops in Gilgit-Baltistan and it remains to be seen whether the UPA II would take any step at all.

I think India is going on its own path and at its own pace.

It is unfortunate that whenever we speak of problems with our country , the comparison invariably , is with China. 50 years back this was not the case because China was not such a high-profile country then. Today , given China's progress in various fields , India is seen as lagging behind in every aspect. I do not understand why this should be so.

Do the Germans ever compare themselves with the Swiss or the other way round ? Does Singapore ever compare itself with Hong Kong ?

I think it is time we stopped such comparisons and concentrated instead on developing ourselves and our country. This country of ours is blessed in so many ways ; we should be proud of our heritage and culture. Thousands of foreigners came to India as visitors and students , and have stayed back to make this their home land. We who are born here are desperate to go elsewhere !

There are foreigners from dozens of countries who become scholars in Indian languages , Indian dance and music , yoga ,... If we were as proud of being Indian as the Chinese are proud of their country , India would become a paradise.

China is more progressive due to political and policy stability while in India have no any strong and united policy for progress and growth.Politicians are busy with corruption and individual work.No nationalism or any feel for national public and their hardships. It is preparation of anti national elements. All we educated peoples must shout in open public places and oppose lazyness of other educateds also.
