We remain mute spectators when we are looted/abused/exploited. Time to learn from Bihar - entire India should support governments which focus on development/education/health care/rural and agricultural sectors. Say NO to caste/communal forces.

I agree with you on this...common man has become a mere puppet. Can't tell whether India will be the same or not. Will it produce Hitler, Gandhi...or more rape victims..

Let’s take a look at the percentage of voting from 1952. It is always between 52% to 61%.
That means an average 60% votes are being polled, in every election. Out of this 60%, whoever gets 31% will win. That means with 31% votes, the winner will rule the balance 69% against their wishes.
In a triangular contest, out of the 60% votes polled, whoever gets more than 21% votes will rule the balance 79% against their will.

The percentages does not matter, It is the candidates chosen by the Political parties leaves much to be desired. To satisfy castes/mafias/groups etc the parties forego the objective candidate selection.

Political patronage to mafia gangs is one of the threats facing the future of India. Already in many areas / fields their dominate is well established. Extortion, kidnapping, blackmail has become the routine in many states and cities. |

India is growing and so do Govt revenues. It is time the government fixes allocation of its revenues to various segments/areas/projects and adhere to it. Presently funds get diverted/siphoned off/misused and the huge funds are luring the corrupt to politics and government jobs. Ideas are needed to stem this rot.

Much simplification of procedures are needed. At present we need to obtain multiple clearances which is waste of time and increases paper work. Example when PAN is there what is the need for KYC/KYD/TIN/DIN/UID etc. Rationalising is the need of the hour. Departments are competing with each other to create new forms/procedures which must be stopped at once.

Govt control over CBI/IB/ED/ etc has made the entire vigilance and investigations a mockery. Even a child knows now that do what you want and get away if you have political links. This list of persons who got hefty punishments should grow to regain public confidence. At present the media disclosures put all parties in the same basket. It is shocking to hear the debates in the media - "You had sinned so I followed the same route- you have no moral right to point a finger at me" May be we need new/fresh/untainted leaders emerging from outside the political parties.

India is in danger of losing the most guarded sovereignty to other nations. We have no say to various overt and covert attacks exerted by our immediate neighbours. Above all, we are succumbing to American's pressure on various Government Policy. Under pressure from US government, our government tried BT Brinjal to favour a few companies in the US, apparently failed to implement due to public pressure. We are seeing their hegemonism in the case of dealing with Iran on Gas Pipeline! There are so many such instances that show India is buckling under pressure. Wikileaks also suggest that how both the ruling and the opposition acted in getting the nuclear deal through in this country, inspite of stiff resistance from the left parties.

In the name of globalisation we are losing our identities and are sacrificing our independence. Our conservative policies and protection has saved us from the meltdown. It is time we tell the west to follow our management principles putting people first than profits
