Having supplies of different voltage & current is not viable as basic installation cost would be very huge. Also since the thought is for different voltage & current the transmission has to be maintained with wide gap and different conductors to be used with diff. capacities which again would imply on high basic costing.
Hence it is not viable and applicable

1) Reduction in heat generated by power conversions/transformers will also help to reduce usage of air conditioning system, and hence energy saving can be achieved. 2) Devices will become cheaper as transformer/SMPS cost will be zero 3) Basic/Lower powered equipments can continue to work in case of power shortages 4) Toxic materials used in power circuitry can be reduced 5) And may be many more to list... |
