The way citizen behavior is like how dreams manifest in sleep

Dream and the Economy Psychoanalysis considers dreams we encounter as the roads to our mind. Psychoanalysts interpret dreams on certain scale. A dream is considered to be stimulated from a near day event, which the dream uses to bring into conscious state repressed wishes which can disturb that days sleep. So the dream appears as symbols, condensed, transformed or transplanted, many way disassociated many times from the actual events repressed. Of this ‘condensation’ is one that is important to explain everyday life of a citizen. For example if a wife thinks she has made a wrong choice in her choice of a husband, this thought is a chain of events throughout her life which are repressed and one day her husband comes home and tell her that he met one of her old friend and she is going to get married. That day she dreams that her friend with her new husband is going for a movie and they are offered 3 tickets at high price. They don’t buy it since it is costly. The outcome of the analysis is that the person who saw the dream is in fact believes that if she didn’t get married so early then she could have got a better husband with the dowry she paid. Here we see the whole repressed events are condensed into a just event of her friend with new husband going for a movie and the event related to a ticket. In life citizen metaphorically live a life similar to dream. For example a student coming out after graduation says he forgot most of what he learned. The fact is he goofed up his academia and failed to generate skills that should work as cognition throughout his career. He condenses his plight in just one word of forgetfulness. This is how a citizen and the crowd behave, they condense their thoughts by ‘idle speculation’. Nobody bothers to expand and analyse the condensed versions of real plight of the economy or events happening in it or in anyone’s life here which is the way average humans behave and the result is chaotic outcomes for the economy. |

It is not only in economic activities that we condense, in all our other social, cultural and our academic activities we tend to condense our inference and analysis when we take decisions, the consequence is visible throughout the economy. For example we talk of ending corruption deluding ourselves that all the problems will fade away after that. Then when a person who lives and manages the demand on him by corrupt practices when suddenly finds that he is deprived of his income to sustain himself and his family will resort to other practices like stealing from budgets, crooked accounting etc; which will lead to disaster more sever than corruption. For example when one is deprived of his subsistence, he will steal from the maintainence budget which will reduce the life of the machinery or building he manages, or he will resort to other practices even direct cheating from funds under his control. So instead of condensing the problem one has to mechanistically figure our solutions from factors that leads to the problem rather than like what is going on for the entire history of India finding organic solutions.
