As govt is trying to demolish child labor from our country but in vain. So got an idea that why dont govt. tie-ups with NGO & start educating those child labors? Because they are poor people & cant afford education expenses, so in day they can work wherever they like but in evening there should be education classes for them so they can be educated & be self dependent. Because reason behind poverty, child labors is only lack of education among people. So education is must to come over these types of problems. |

Yes,education can change mind of child. child uderstand what is good and bad? which thing is nesaccary to do? we all know th most common resion of child labour is poverty and illretarcy.
I think you r rite but not perfectly practical, no, master who is paying money to the child labour will think as you r thinking. In this way the children will loose the opportunity of getting job, I m sorry to say that loose opportunity, but it is fact that they need to work to fullfil there requirements.
As per the definition of labour, "is work done for wages, usually hard physical work without any skill".
This means three things with a solution I could think of..
1. Economically challenged families would like to make their children also to earn for their living (done for wages).
Solution: As a Chinese proverb says - "Teach a person how to fish rather than giving a fish to eat for a day"; people need to address financial needs of the family, encourage them to become a small entrepreneur, provide them with some loans and guidance to grow financially. We have seen Reliance, VGP, T-Series etc.. all started with less money and with high vision who are now big.
2. Children are subjected to work beyond their capability (hard physical work)
Solution: Make labour act very strict and define how children should be treated during work. Education should be mandatory and it is the obligation of the person who is taking them. Their working hours should not be more than 4 hours a day and only for 3 days a week.
3. There is no improvement to skills to a person doing this work (without any skill).
Solution: Work is not just for money, it should be for improving skills and contacts. Sometime people can learn more on practical basis, hence work should be more like apprenticeship. Encourage kids with high potential and skilled, give them the necessary recognition and provide them with contacts. They will come up with high integrity and sense of achievement.

I am always against child labour but we should also keep in mind why it occurs? I mean which child wants to work for living in the age he is supposed to go to school and play? Of course no one. His condition compels him to work and leave studies. So, merely stopping child labour won't work as it will worsen their condition. We should also give them free food in school and should teach the basic ways to be self dependant. In this way, not only they would come to school for the sake of free food and free studies but also would learn soft skills which will empower them to earn their living when they grow up. |

As poverty is debated to be the main cause of child labour, efforts should be made to raise the income generation capacity of the family members of child labouers. Providing vocational training is one of the ideal way towards this. The government with the help of NGOs and other CSOs should consider this seriously and start training. Stregnthening and equipping bridge centres and schools meant for child labour with better facilities and teaching staff is another need which needs to be addressed soon. B.V. Kishore Kumar |

Child labours are earning members of their family and it is not easy to convince parents to spare them for studies. Some times, the drunken fathers use their children’s earning by creating fearful atmosphere at home. The situation just can't be explained. The Vocational training at leisure hours or evening with some kind of stipend/ food etc. may melt the rigid hearts of those parents to spare their child in return of some expectation.
Swami vivekanada said u can not preach religion to empty stomach.
In the same way u can not ask a starving child to educate himself and not to earn bread for himself.
As such we should ensure necessary earning oppurtunities r created for the family of the child and child himself.
The education should ensure that the child and parents that he learns more through education9schools and college) it can deliver beeter livelihood for the child.

We have lot of orphanages who take kare of child with his/her education, lively hood etc. Since child labour is banned in India better option is to send them at orphanages . Wherever child labor is supported by parents or any body else, such persons are punishable under law and if law satisfies that there is nobody to lookafter the child such child will send to orphanages legally. |

Yaar, most of the child labor have families(parents and smaller siblings) and perhaps work to provide extra financial support. It is of course sad that some people are born into hardship. But I am not sure if sending such children to orphanages is the right thing to do. P.s- sorry for disagreeing Ramanatha.

Every year crores of rupees is blown up by our temples during their festivals. Every temple should divert part of their collections, which was donated as charity by public, in creating primary schools, primary healthcare centres, vocational training insititutes etc. The huge money with our temples is being misused and embezzled year after year. Income of these temples should be spent in a transparent way and which will inturn will help people to donate more once they find that their donations are put to proper use. |

When BCCI/IPL rake in 1000s of crores without paying any tax because of their constitution as Trusts and Socities - government should force them to undertake/adopt rural education projects and build sports facilities in rural/backward areas. Alternatively Govt can tax IPL/BCCI matches thru a special levy and the funds generated should be used to the promotion of sports in this country. BCCI tax exemptions has not promoted any sports.
Interested persons can either donate funds or participate in such projects by giving their time in the nearest temple. It is not possible for everyone to start and manage NGO, but we go to the temples nearby. Service to the community next to us is what we can do it without much efforts. This is needed to bring us close to our neighbours and community.
Small contributions by all will help the needy.
