Thus a centralized data will help the company to pool out the useful information at any moment of time. Moreover data will be arranged in proper order thus reference becomes easy & fast. |

ERP is a great business enabler. This is true. So all leading companies has invested on it. The answer of But How?? is very elaborative. Infact it requires to be discussed on actual practical case studies. In generic, any one can type in google and find thousands of benefit of ERP. I request if you please ask this question with Industry specific vertical, operations and objective. I have been in ERP for last few years. Based on the practical experience and weekly visit to a new customer, I will try to explain the But How?? |

ERP is important, but implementing ERP doesnt always mean IT inplementation and automation...it can be a curse if re-engineering of processes isnt done properly, so ERP is effective when process reengineering is perfect (along with data centralisation ofcourse as said) and dynamic too, bcz a better way is always there..

By mistake, I gave the above arguments to Centralised data. It should go to ERP solutions
ERP is a very good business mapping tool. But it is successful in specific company only.In big company where no. of cross functional issue till date ERP fully not successful.

ERP - in the whole is a distributed computing; As my dear partner said centralized accumulation of data, is very much true but the computing happens as de-centralized; Moreover of data would give a heavy load on centralized location; ERP- Enterprise Resource Planning - Which itself says there are resources available with the company & use it in different aspects and technologies, which could yield more business instead of accumulating the resource, which could even stop growth;
