Vertical Selling

idea posted by Leena Pawar Tech Architect, IT Infotech

In my opinion, vertical online stores are certainly one way to differentiate, and this has already started to happen in certain categories such as flowers, shoes and gadgets. However, since the overall eCommerce pie is still relatively small, retailers who are focusing on vertical categories, may have to wait for few years to achieve the scale they are hoping for.

I think Harry is absolutely right. Marketing strategy and Pricing are the two major factors which would differ each online store from other. Quality of service also matters. If the steps to purchase customers favorite items are less and customer friendly, that would also go in favour of the online store owner. Regards, Anna George.

ya i too agree with Leena point, in case of online selling one has to wit for some year to achieve their scale. because the awareness it self takes time to spread, and companies competativeness also matters. the USP model, marketing stratergy, price comprtation are other factors which shows you are different from rest.

Unique benefits

Sites must try to offer unique benefits, which differentiate them from others. This is a best way to keep a site from offering same kind of products and benefits. This is much more challenging with technology now a days.

All companies use the strategy of USP, all are differnet in their approach, "Buy it, sell it, love it", and their target audience will be different,Amazon USP is "Earths Biggest Bookstore", "Nichesuite's USP is Future ready ebusiness solution". all companies having their own identity to represent in the market.
