Entrepreneurs were always there in India in the form of traders and the Marwaris who were into business, but now India is a land of Technolgy, vast talent in IT, R&D, and Management, the Recent Numbers suggest that the entrepreneurial activity in India is around 8.5% of the working population, but overall Entrepreneurship activity is around 13%...Which is very low, As India is having a strong growth prospects as India has managed to make its place for outsourced services from all around the world, and investors are also happy where they are getting high quality work for lower costs, so this makes India a great place for Upcoming entrepreneurs.  As Eximius-09 A Entrepreneurship summit that is happening in Bangalore IIM campus focusses on the topic above, so people How to Promote Entrepreneurial mindset among the Indian youth?

Govt Research Dept. should create a platform where a intrested person can access to recent data and also be able to discuss with VCs. They should be given paid live proj during their internship program...

Entrepreneurship Development Programs

idea posted by Viktor Stephen COO, I Entrepreneur

The Govt. of India, state govts, industry bodies like CII, FICCI, etc. banks and prominent B Schools should have an entrepreneurship development program to mentor and support upcoming/budding entrepreneurs. Loans/venture capital if required should be made available after exercising due diligence on the project.

By promoting outsourcing, freelancing and sister concerns

idea posted by Tanmay Gaur Freelance Software Developer

My idea is that the govt. and the companies should start believing in outsourcing, freelancing or creating sister concerns of a disintegrating company. Indian Govt. and private companies should look towards outsourcing for cost reductions. Young, hard working and experienced people should be motivated to create specialized functional units to a firm which cannot afford them with time but which also understand their significance. If such understanding is developed as a company policy, we can create more motivated employees and also increased production. It also saves us of various company infighting and legal cases. However, this needs to go as a social message. Our whole society should encourage hard work.

Availability of information

idea posted by Arun Murali Senior Software Engineer, Mind Tree Limited

I have really searched everywhere around the internet but there is very little information available about the legal procedures to start a company. The process is first complicated, then there is not pointer as to how to start one. Then there is complications like taxes and other charges after starting one. Where do i get the information for all this.

This is further complicated by the fear of political involvement in many sectors.

Papers like "Time of India" talk so much about creating leader. I wish they dedicate one column a day on entrepreneurial ideas and processes to start a company. Even their business supplement Economic Times don't want Start ups. In fact it would be far better if print magazines were available.

A different approach

idea posted by Kamalesh Tripathi Project Manager, Sapient Corporation

Why is that after completing education course it is seen that most of them opt for salary based jobs, because one has seen that as an safe option and would not like to take that risk in their lives, if he is given a different approach like there are other options out there for him and he can do much better than anybody, then they will start to think differently and put their brains for some innovative thoughts which gets backed up and gets adequate funding and i think India is a great option for an entrepreneur, as till the potential has not been properly tapped yet, and this gives many opportunities in so many areas that if there is a great idea or concept, it is pretty much sure that it gets backed up, VC's are ready to take risk in a country like India which offers so much potential. .
