I mean half of the Facebook users are people who access the site via their mobile phones, and this location based services comes in handy for them, as in future smartphones are the ones which will drive things for us, and with people accessing such sites through their phones will make this tool a really important one and when their location is disclosed, the features can help marketers more easily target customers, by reaching shoppers when they’re close to making a purchase. In the future, Facebook may also include an advertising component to Places. Which will make this new location based services tool called places a handy one for its users. |

i think it has advantes for advertisers as well for customer as they will cum to know about other prodcut offering in the locality, unless the marketer know the customer to target, they wudnt to cum to about the things, so i dont think they getting personal

This is a handy tool for Mobile marketing strategy, if one updates their place, then relevant ads will go to a person, I mean if person is in Connaught place Delhi, he will get the best deals and best offers that are happening in that place, and also best restaurants and like what is the happy hours there, where a discount is happening and when is the best time to visit, these things all will come into play when marketers are trying to take care of their customers. With companies placing ads on Facebook and with Facebook places tool they can generate even more revenue here. |
