Tap at the root of the problem, which may not be the easy route.

idea posted by Vinoy Scaria James Tour Consultant., Guiders Mission Tours & Travels

The emotion of the peeople demanding the state needs to examined very carefully by the central government and action taken taken on it only after deep research and thought. The emotions can be sparked of very easily especially in a country. But major decisions of a state cannot be taken based on such emotions. The divisions of states can lead to severe financial and social problems.

Just a careful look at the case of demarcated in recent past is an indication of the pathetic repercussions taken on basis of such emotions. However the center should also visit the argument of people demanding such divisions.

If there is any truth in such feeling the government has to work hard on it. It may be tougher task than bifurcating the state. But in the long run it will benefit every body

Thank you Murthy sir. Your opinion means a lot to me.

And I was thinking exactly the same number of ministers. Just 4 or 5 to rule the state.

Law & Order and RTA should be moved to the centre. There need not be any city corporations. Their work should be taken care of by the state machinery.

Each mini-state should be made energy-sufficient - meaning that they should be helped to become self-sufficient with respect to energy - using as many "green" methods as possible, such as wind power, solar power  IF this is too much, then the centre should take charge of energy as well.

Finances for the state could be generated with the usual taxes. For most states, there is really no financial problem.

I see something good in Isaac Madhavan's view. Make india into 200 small states, with a Lt Governor and 4 or 5 ministers to rule the state, Good Idea !! India can be called United States of India. Great! I support you Isaac, on this !!

Srinivas sir, thank you for correcting me about the district. Mentioning Anakapalle is indeed superfluous.

Sir, I'm thinking over a period of 300 years.

The implementation of mini-states itself will take about 50 years by the time the very last state will have its own state capital along with the infrastructure, etc.

If we are able to implement nearly 200 mini-states in India, each region will wake up to the responsibility of governing themselves. I'm proposing a Governor for each mini-state. So 200 of these Governors can adequately represent the President who should be given more powers in the governing of the country.

After about 100 odd years of this kind of living, the people will automatically want to coalesce into larger states. Then that coalescing will happen with the volition of the people.

Of course, after another 100 years people might again feel something else and split differently.

Central Govt. shall have a decisive stand

See the situation in Andhra Pradesh. Succumbing to pressures owing to the Fast Unto death agitation of K.C.R. Central Govt. made a statement in a hurry for creation of separate Telangana. This statement was made on the reports received from its Intelligence agencies and failed to assess the consequences. The people of other regions of the state reacted otherwise. Succumbing to these pressures, again the Central Govt. made another statement deviating its pro-Telangana statement. This shows the indecisiveness of the Govt. The Pro-Telangana statement of Union Govt. raised unnecessary anticipations in the minds of people of Telangana. People are vertically divided on the lines of regions and political leaders trying to cash on these sentiments and worsen situation in the state. There are about 14 statehood agitations in different states. Govt. should have been acted wisely on the issues of this nature. who is responsible for this situation. It is non other than the immature indecisive Union Govt.

Yes! we can think of a second state re-organization committee. But that is a little while from now. Here the central government has to take a stern stand and declare a moratorium of such demands till an appointed committee gives its report.

NO LANGUAGE BASED STATE

We have 28 states and 7 union territories inside 3287590 sq.km of Indian territory .All states boundary marked as per language.Beside the union territories, remaining area to be divided by 28 and make all 28 states square area ( like USA ). Then there will be no problem of any new states on language basis.

R N B this seems to be a good idea and since this will help solve problems why not apply the same though heart and heart I know this will never be taken up by the government for fear of loosing their chair.

I think it is time time to look at re-organization of states and a II SRC should be formed immediately after the By-polls. Of course language should not be the only over-riding factor. We have stated to beyond that. And the committee should be full of professional experts.

Are we all bored to try out different changes without knowing why one has to do it or if need be what is the reason for it?What is the need for so many divisions, since each state is divided into districts which are like mini states. The country has duplicate administrative machinery in the guise of a bicameral system at the center as well as one for each state. Kerala even tried for one for each district they had poll a few years back and the results came out and no one heard about it afterwards. For each district again there is the district administration through the civil servents or district collector. Then again districts are divided into panchayats, villages, taluks etc; etc;. All this is too much bueraucracy. A democracy need only one bicameral system. So probably states administered through governor is less bureaucracy and then we have to take into consideration the large tribal clusters and caste clusters of the nation and each need a voice the reason probably we have so many duplication and large outflow in budget to feed this machinery of administration. Solution is opting for a single language like English and giving up the different language structure of the nation since there are around 73 of them around. This way nobody is hurt since nones mother tounge is another ones national language it remain borrowed from another nation which most of the citizen are capable of handling and injustice to anyone cluster of the nation or advantage to anyone either. Less outflow, more efficiency.

and kick the politicians as in they should not be involved. A gag order should be issued to restrain politicians and media from commenting on it. IT should be followed by a short announcement by the EC on the voting date. People all over the ocuntry should vote on a few of the contentitous points and then the most popular vote should be taken forward whatever be the result. At least this way it will not only be a true democratic process but also ensure all sections of society have their say.

What is the gain or difference this kind activities can do to the common man or for that matter you or I it is virtually nothing. This is a politically motivated act. One to gain politically mileage two to divert the people attention. May be breaking up large states will be help in better administration, but at what cost. To create a state and provide all infrastructure is not a easy task. It demand large financial out flow. So it will be better to concentrate on development than doing making and breaking of the country.

Take politics out of the scene

As you must all have read that UP cabinet has approved a fracture into smaller states and why after more than 65 years of independence? It is all politics, trying to garner votes and hence tinkering with the boundaries of the states. Telengana is a good example, more parts like gorkhaland, saurashtra, kutch, vidarbha etc. are catching people's imaginations addled by the politicians.
