Globalization requires common business practices and processes across the enterprise. The challenge is to reengineer processes to be globally efficient, yet locally accountable. A multinational company still must meet all in-country requirements set by foreign governments, as well as honor the business traditions, etiquette and customs which are the underpinning of successful and long-term relationships. |

If just another theory of, that is generally applied in designs, is used the path can be found. The theory is, "Every design problem is unique and shall be dealt as unique". To explain a little, if you have to design a system look at its unique requirements from customer's point of view, from incidental requirements point of view, from company point of view (i.e. quality and commercial bottom lines) and then design (there are other considerations also). Do not just propose something which was done earlier and was successful. Generally, I think, this should help in 'Glocalising' your design, facilities or whatever for that matter. |

WELL Said and allow me to simplify.
Know your requirements well and design accordingly, using the best.
Globalization, does not mean aping without reason whiled not utilizing home strengths is at best foolhardy.

Its very important factor in the growth & prosperity of a company, it has been very lately adopted by developing countries the practice of going/being global has been going on around the world by powerful emperors in past few centuries. For e.g. talk about Akbar even today we see his symbol and we try neglecting Sikandar. Ask why the reason is very simple at local level it was Akbar who got flexible in his operations with the common man & here local ethics played very important role as his deeds were favoring millions at local level and the same was not done by Sikandar. So, going global with local level we have to be flexible enough in our operations with the following; 1. Government - Existence 2. Consumer - Survival 3. Ethical - Prosperity

Seeing global constriction of business models and process, i think if different global organizations may come together and share some practices through consultancies or governmental institutions would enhance the process of thinking globally as acting as well |

Many a times, In the name of adopting global best and bringing in advancements, a lot of times several important factors like home strengths, market and environmental parameters resource availability, cultural suitability and long term impacts are missed. Obsolete technologies from advanced countries as well easily enter as they forever promise quicker gains. The sense of responsibility and role of regulator is vital part in preventing this from happening, yet if not strictly in place, can cause irreparable longterm wounds. Reason and effect, are much more important than simply rushing to grab. |

Yes, this is the perfect phrase I like in the movie "Up in the air". Pretty good management decisions to be followed. The slower we move, the faster we die; we are not swans, we are sharks... And all the backpack theory are the great principles of management. ;) Yuva |

No, i am not joking but very serious when i say that one should think local but act global. Thinking local means adapt your business to local needs and demands while adopting an international approach to the whole business. For eg in my field - Retail, thinking local would be to do your buying based on local customs and tastes and not what the prevailing fashion is internationally. Acting globally would be to bring the best global retail practices in terms of shop layout, fittings, customer service etc. into the business. I feel this mantra would be the recipe for success in the coming days because today travel has become common and people from even the poorest of countries say in Africa have also started travelling out and witnessing global brands and experiencing international service. This he can go back to his home country and apply depending on the local customs and traditions. |

There are three types of operatives in any Organisation. 1. The Vision of the company, and things relating to it. 2. The Mission of the Company and things relating to it. 3. The Strategy.
1. The Vision If the Vision of the company is universal, it will have a global acceptance and approach. It will have a common motto, a Physical Gesture, a way of saying hello, or some sign, that is unique to it, but same around the globe. (Take the Taj Hotel: Maharaja Bow, McDonalds: The Sitting man on chair,Sahara: Sahara Pranam etc). These things gestures and trends can be kept the same in all/most of the Prospective Market Areas. 2. The Mission The Mission can be fragmented into Regional or Segmental Achievements, These segmented achievements can be had only if the segments are understood well. The understanding is based of the Local perception or Social mindset. The mission can be realised only by using the Globally set mission Goals in such a way that the societies take it as their own, and themselves strive onto achieving that. 3. The Strategy Strategy Comprises of Actions to be taken, the way they are to be taken, kept on a timeline. These can be clearly broken into Regional Plans with, :the Globally acceptable elements like it's PMS, Administration techniques, and Brand Standards :the Locally Adjusted elements depending on the region's business ehtics, practices and trends, like customized products, service technique, or appreciable Social Conduct. This is some of the Glocalisation I know of... :) |

I would like to support Mr. Manjunath here. Bharat Ganarajya.. that is what it should be... |
@ Abhishekh He has clearly explained the differnce between an enterpuener and an owner.. But the problem of the debate is that we fall in neither as we are not into business.. But if he asks that what you wanna be.. I would love to be an enterpuener..... |
Believers believe and non-believers don't . No one can tell what will happen tomorrow but we want to get assurity which makes us feel more secure and so we want to believe in it. All the astrologers are taking advantage of this mentality. |
