With increase in size and number of retail organizations there is high competition between the different players. It is widely felt that the key differentiator between the successful and the not so successful players is mainly in their approach towards adopting new technology. Most of the retail organization are now keen to automate their existing systems and adopt upcoming technologies. How automation can be brought to retail stores?

Kiosk System

idea posted by Sudhansu Jena Logistics Manager, Target

I think Kiosk System can be brought to retail stores. Inbuilt RFID sensor in this system can sense any product taken near by and can display related information like date of manufacture, size, designer etc. This provides all information to customers without the help of a sales man.

I feel, automation in the sence of integration of all the retails & xyz multibrand shoppies in one centrallised place called as central office in an imp point. by doing this one can track the inventory laying at different stores, one can get the online sale trande for a day, week, month, quarter.

This in terms will generate the demand trande & taste of the consumer with respect to time &  trends.

If one can get the exact demand then its very easy for any retail SCM to arrange for the actual supply in time in all respective stores.

this will term control inventory of the other stores too, & will help in maintaining safety stock at stores & timely procurement.

Thanks, Chetan Thakare.

Fixed- Inventory check system helps in knowing customer preference

Fixed- Inventory check system can be brought to the retail store, where it can be fixed on the trial room and tracks movement of goods in and out. So this would help to track frequently tried items. This would help to bring an idea on what goods customers are preferring in the current market.
