i think as far as indian students are concerned they have quality, they are well informed with their domain of work....more often they lack the confidence to show up...and underestimate them selves..havin more of interactive sessions will definately improve their presentation...and such sessions are also informative.

idea posted by Sundaramoorthy.k M.A student, v.o.chidambaram college

If we want to improve the quality of education in India, all the universities and the institutes must have same sayllabus and it should be heavy. only then the teachers will try to learn more and they will search a new way to make the students clear about the portions alloted. Students may suffer at the begining, but sure they will achieve something after finishing the course they studied.

idea posted by anandhi MBA/PGDM student, achariya school of business and technology

main draw back of indian students are they didt understand the subject, rather they are just memorising the books and vomiting in the exams. to avoid this faculty must train them not to memorise but to understand the subject in a better way.

Have Qualified Faculties

In my opinion quality education can only be imparted only if institutions have good & qualified faculties. Faculties should try to give their max & make the students capable of facing the practical world.

This is the most basic need. We cannot think about further extensions without addressing this need.

for instance if we take engineering , students might get good marks in their departments modules, but when we refer statistics most of the fresh engineers are not employable ( i am not saying unemployed), they doesn't know what they are studying. marks only matters here, when we take engineers from the IITs they are well trained. the matter is that they have well qualified lecturers but others don't. i our country government say much about equality in education but the reality is very much biased.

we often learn something that has lost all its applicability in the present world. time changes, with it changes all requirements. we need some advanced knowledge, a precise training in industrial format to be more prepared for the industrial competition.

Good HRD policies at the national level

I think the support and drive for a good educational system should come from the top in terms of infrastructure, rigorous training to qualified teachers at all levels, affordable cost to the students, regular interactions with the industry and international partnerships in the educational sector (with quality universities)

Students can get more knowledge from qualified faculties, this is the 1st step towards their carrer. B'coz if they dont have knowledge then they can't stand in corporate world. Yes, But this is fact that they can get knowledge from their own too, but qulified faculties can be their support for career path.

Role of study centers

idea posted by VIKAS DAHIYA BCA student, MDU ROHTAK

I agree with you. Quality is a great factor in our education. In our country there are many private and govt colleges and study centers but mostly want only money. They don't know about quality education. They not have any resources to improve their standard. They believe only in qualification not in education. Government should take strict action against them.

Change the way subjects are taught in primary classes

idea posted by Sanjay Professor, Alfa Physics Classes

Most of the schools in India follow a rote learning pattern, a student is asked to write one one one on whole of the page. Spellings are memorized rather than taught phonetics, no stress on mental maths or vedic maths, no use on interacive teaching methodology in the school

Prevent Industry Rejects

idea posted by Siva Subramaniam MBA/PGDM student, Jerusalem College of Engineering
The basic problem is that the people who take teaching as career paths are "generally" corporate rejects. Employment in teaching is wide open and secure. Except a few intellectuals with good teaching capabilites who fix their motive as service (which is only a small portion), teaching has become a safe haven for corporate non performers and rejects. This has severe implications on the standard of teaching. Colleges don't take strains of severe screening while recruitment, because they are under the constraint to fill up vacant positions quickly. Since the pay scale is not very attractive, experts are discouraged to contest. So, eventually, these positions are filled up by rejects.

quality of education can only be inmproved if the institutes provide the more practical knowledge rather than bookish knowledge. because in todays world practical is more important.

before to suggest an idea... lets just consider some imaginative picture regarding... whats the current student population in our country..how many were employed into teaching sector..and how many though interested are not able to get opportunity as faculty.. and how many though got an opportunity to teach some are delivering their best...and how many are still stepping into education every year...and wats the actual ratio of student to faculty... and why this bloody government is approving rights to some industrialists and other money driven people into education sector... just consider this rough idea above...and its really a mind boggling question how to improve quality of education in a vast and densely populated  country like india..

but there are still chances of improving the quality... only through stringent rules to be implement and certain standards which are verified by a group of intellectuals.. and without any scope of impurities into education sector...

more over it is dependent on the government in a democratic country like india...
