As to my view point domestic brands has to change altogether in a more creative and technological way inorder to survive in today's cut throat competition. They have to understand why people switch to global brands like what makes them attracted to global brands. They have to use new creative ideas in launching the products like new packaging, attractve advertising , understand the customer's new tastes & change according to their intrest. |

Domestic brand in the name itself Domestic is there. First let us understand what domestic customer want. Let us understand the tastes of differnt places in the country and introduce products accordingly. or make little modification and introduce inthe market..It may be anything packing.flavour sales module, advertising.
Out of all the colas -coke,pepsi,7up,fanta which one sells more??? It is not any one of these but Thums Up-taste the thunder.Indian consumers have unique taste, choice, value and lifestyle.Anybody who caters to these factors can come out with flying colours. However we should'nt forget the quality of products and technology part. But having a good product and technology does not guarantee success until and unless you cater to the specific Indian markets as people around the counter have different taste.International brands who have come out with flying colours have adapted to the Indian way of doing business - the latest inclusion in the list being MARKS & SPENCERS
OUR COUNTRIES PRODUCTS ARE POPULAR IN MANY COUNTRIES,BUT THE GREAT COMPETITOUR IS CHINA BECAUSE OF CHEAPER RATES,BUT ONCE THEY BECOME DEFECTIVE CANT GET THEM REPARED,WHILE INDIAN'S PRODUCTS ARE THOUGH BIT COSTLY CAN BE GOT REPARED THOUGH THEY BECOME DEFECTIVE NOT AS OF CHINESE.
HENCE IF WE MAITAIN OUR QUALITY ONE DAY OUR PRODUCT SHALL BE MUCH MORE POPULAR THAN OTHER'S.

Globalization of domesti brand keeping in mind its competibility with the demand of client/ customer... |

hello Varsha, apart from being globalized any domestic brand should be rated by its strength in influencing the customer and its market share.
The potential of domestic demand is limited, we should eye global markets like china did.

What is it that fascinates people tpo possess "PHOREN GOODS"?? :)) Fact: Its tag "Made In ,,,,," Fact: Brand. It has a mass, global appeal. It has the factor of "WOW"! Fact: Quality is assured. (China is excused :)) Fact: Packaging is visually appealing. It makes you WANT to grab it! Fact: After Sales Service is replicated worldwide! In short the international brands have their Q's (Quality), P's (Product in entirety) & S's (Service) absolutely in place for people to swear by it all across the continents! Isnt this what really needs to be done by us?? Get our QPS's right!!Good dbate Vishnuji! :) |

When you buy a foriegn brand, you expect quality, latest technology and relaibility. The Indian brands(many) lack in all grounds such as
1) Quality
2) Packaging
3) Finishing
4) Features
5) Catchy Advertisement
These are 5 things that makes a brand a brand
Dear all, In order to get rid of the strong competition from the Global brands domestic brand has to compete with the global brand in terms of pricing strategy providing customer with affordable competitive pricing wihtout compromising the product quality and service.Placement of product to the right segment is very important .

I feel it is so much similar to Indian Cinema... Hindi films once had only India as their market, then they went out & had a connect. Connect with the wide Indian Population worldwide, later joined in by other viewers and today Indian Films make more money overseas than in India. Indian Goods should do the same & connect... with Indians worldwide. If they come and play on our homeground, we can very well go & play there. We are foreign for them there, right ? Of course cant discount the Quality, Finish, Features, Price & Placement factors. If one notices closely... it is happening ! albeit slowly. |

Global brands are gaining prominance is bacause of their money muscle and sees valuation in terms of $ which makes them always to stay top of mind among the consumers, the domestic companies whom have less cash reserves when compared to MNC, has to see and understand the reliastic and holistic market scenario, by using some sort MR data, even though the domestic brands are at par and even more in terms of quality, they has to set their own value/volume targets in reliastic nature, which they were not, in current market happennings, which apperently lands them to bulk stock lifters(traders/MFS-chains/whole sale market)to get rid of that perticular time pressure bottom line field force were forced to alter the company policies, through which currently they were gaining but on a long run the brand will be ruined its hard to come of the cluches of that scenario, this also happening among Global brands, since they have hefty war chest they can bounce back again. See how China Mobiles sucess in the market which shattered the big wigs, which payved the spring board for small players to enter in the space to fill the vaccum with their own brands, eventually those were also accepted by consumers, brands like Micromax,Karban were some of them, so be always customer choice oriented, also one has to have several product for several regions in india ,as India is largely differentiated by language, culture, SECs

Yes... Go back to the Gandhian days & Raise the Spirit of Patriotism. Inspite of being in the 21st century, we will have to do that of course alongwith raising the level of Quality, Finish & Packaging with agressive advertising, better Placement & competitive Pricing... If Indian goods are to compete against Global Brands, we as Indians will have to go full throttle & support them. Like they say Charity begins at home... So lets do it Guys ! |

Does automobile sector need a PUBLICITY STUNT?? I just don't think so.. as Mr. Virag said it can be more of demand-supply gap..nothing more. Everyone is too much into buying new vehicles that they just don't need any other marketing .. Just perisitant... |
It is a great chance for all of us , a reason to quit smoking. It is like a motivation because we are suppose to dedicate our act of quitting to our loved ones. We all know how harmful smoking is and all the smokers know how difficult is it to quit.... |
