Recognize hard work / good work done in a transparent manner. Reward such people. If the work done is appreciated and rewarded in a transparent manner, that itself goes a long way to making an employee feel more secure. |

Recognising the talent with proper reward/award/promotions. Enhancing the avenues for career development by providing training facilities, contributory retirement benefits and making the employees a party for decision making etc. will make the employee feel secured in an organisation.
Filling the gaps of employees by honing his skills every now and then, rewarding and recognising his contributions when warranted, get the maximum out of his potential being a coach, providing him positive working environment, give due consideration to his personal problems, organise family get-together once in a quarter, compensate him timely and allow him provident fund deductions, gratuity, family pension scheme, medical reimbursement for self and family, self-development allowance, grievance redressal through positive means, etc.
Judging ability and its suitability is contineous process, a big game rather, reward and recognition is better way dangling the carrot employers can make employee happy, and what if the employee is unable to grab the carrot he / she may start feeling insecure so training and mentoring is important it’s more of an MNC culture. For small / Medium companies may be happy senior works, is it how employers can make employee happy? so this is not the right idea for this contest.
Insecurity stems from fear and or incompetency, removing fear is individual task.

Anand besides feeling secure one should get recognition in terms of say outside trip etc and let the person feel he is working for himself as he develops more and more company also develops and every body is happy and secure.
Anand I agree with you job rotation is one of the tools to keep the employee occupy and in the process learn all the jobs which makes him feel secure.

Job Satisfaction is more important as everything revolves around it. It is in-turn interlinked with rewards and recognitions, performance appraisal,job security, etc. It can be achieved through proper employee engagement programs.

People when critisised for an error in public, go into a shell for the fear of losing face / credibility among peers/subordinates.The employers must ensure that the tiniest contribution must be publicly appreciated and the biggest of error be counselled in private. It builds trust. The silent guilt within the appraisee motivates him to perform better and encourages healthy competition among themselves. An employee of the week or month, with a photo and citation on the company's notice board would have immense increase in productivity. A simple incentive like allowing the employee of the week / mnth to park his vehicle adjacent to the Boss' would be seen as a major inspiration for the rest.

My knowledge is totally based on book contents, and some common sense..as I am still a student and have no experience of working environment. Here I just want to add a simple Idea, which everyone knows and already added in different words.
Employers want better results from their employees, and for that they must know who is working to what extent. The Performance of each employee should be measured with full honesty (without any manipulations) and they must be praised for their work.
Recognition of work and reward/appraisal not only increase their morale but also satisfy their self-esteem.
Today people seek for respect and healthy environment, A handsome Pay is just not sufficient to keep them happy, their social/moral/emotional needs should also be taken care of and get fulfilled to the max by employers.
Informal interactions (through parties or cultural activities) should also be encouraged to minimize the gap between personnel and enhance better understanding.
Thanking you for providing me a platform to express my views, Here all seems my seniors, and I would welcome your comments/suggestions on my views. Kindly correct me/or help me in understanding the work-place environment much clearly.

when any person joins an employment first thing he sees is security and future.if the workers feel that the company will be there with them at the time of crises then there will be an emotional bonding with employers and the contract lasts long ,but also the employer should respond in true manner to all needs of employees regerless f positions or liabilities

A number of times employee insecurity arises from one or combination of any of the above 3 factors. To ensure employees are happy - first give a professional work place, then be realistic and objective in what they need to ahieve. Dont overload or under utilise them. Finally be unbiased when it comes to the appraisals. Say it as it needs to be said. If they need correction, dont just say it but show what needs to be done. If they have performed well, reward them well even though they might not be your relative.

Both the points are valid, if you are working and getting kudos for something that you are not doing or like doing, you feel your efforts are negated and hence work assigned as per your ability along with recognition and awards will make an awesome combination in making an employee feel wanted and contended and make him stick around for long.
