The main intention of the teachings at IIT K should be that students are able to apply it in their day 2 day life. Students should be made to think out of the box. Focus should be on critical thinking & how to tackle difficult problems with simple solutions. Innovation should be encouraged & students should be promoted to go to that extra level of expertise in their fields. |

I mean we need people who get in these institutions who are having merit and not based reservations, this is a debatable topic yes, but this is how every other university in the world enrols its students, if the student is matching the criteria then only he gets the chance if not no, but in India, its always about the quota's and reservations. |

I agree but in India removing the quota system is not possible. We can come up with a plan where the best man gets the seat.
Quota system can be considered to some extent as the economy is not uniformly distributed. So certain rules should be made that is applicable for all the candidates.

IIT Kanpur should promote a culture that welcomes students from other countries. It should see that foreign students should feel the same as if they are in their homelands. They should be given special attention & care should be take that they don't have issues during their stay in the institution |

One way of achieving the glory is by continuous improvement & proper implementation of plans. The targets should be achieved in stipulated time frame.
Further each of the staff & students should work together towards it.
