India already has required brains to make it a No. 1 country. But our misfortune is that due to the injection of politics in every field, good talents are not getting chance to perform because of which brain drain is taking place. The facilities and scope they are getting in other countries, they are not getting the same in India. This is the reason they are fleeing to western worlds and making it more developed than that of India. If we keep politics away from S&T in India and giving all required facilities to them, I am sure brain drain will stop, scientists will come back to India and within a few year, we'll overtake USA to become world's no.1 S&T mapped country. |

True Sonam....put into place lucrative measures, recognise the basic indigenious brain by giving it more exposure, step up the R&D framework, less of political inteference in terms of governmental policies & norms...basically giving CREDIT its due as such.
I support your views but question arises : Is that politics in India don't wish S&T to become No 1 in the world.
U r absolutely right Sonam. If we keep politicians away: India will be no. 1
Exactly
Very realistic approach..Ajai Bhai
yes ur very right

It means - catching up right people ( from college students to retired people) who is having relevant talent. A person with scientist inside may not yearn Phd but given an oppurtunity to work in research, he/she can certainly contribute to to the research activity. People who have enough talent and interest in science can be given an oppurtunity for innovation. These criteria can help to bring in more and better resources. Also more budget should be alloted for research activity in order to compete with other countries who invest more in science and technology. |

Well what i feel can help a ot is that we should concentrate more on developing a student's intellect more towards development in terms of innovations than being mere degree holders who start to learn only after they enter in the industry and slowly realise what they learnt was good for achieving good marks only with least of practical use.

China is taking on the West where the West has dominated so far, bringing the fight closer to the technology leaders, while India has conveniently told itself that it will not even play this game. Whereas Indians foolishly are serving their European and American masters setting up BPOs, KPOs, LPOs, software services, helping them do their things in a cheap and cost-effective way, while Chinese are poised to take on these European and American masters head on and have completely overthrown their colonial inferiority complex. Indians only used to think they are good at software services while China is good at manufacturing. This was a convenient characterization that only Indians believed because the books were written in English which only Indians could understand and limited themselves to serving the West. It made no attempts at taking on China in manufacturing. Nor did they attempt to take on the West to go up the value chain to actually deliver technology and products. China not only won the race in manufacturing and consolidated its position, it is now entering the technology product space, the domain held closely by the European, American and Japanese technology leaders and has started to beat these leaders at their own game. |

Mr. Pathak is right to some extent, but claiming that China won the race in manufacturing is untrue(reason-India was never in the race atleast in most of the sectors).
Indian companies should definitely look to climbing the value chain and deliver higher products and that is already happening (atleast in the IT sector).
In the manufacturing domain Indian companies should play on to their strengths like the textile sector where India was a major exporter at one time and now they seem to have lost to upcoming competitors like Bangladesh, Thailand and China.
Another promising sector could be the small car manufacturing sector where top manufacturers are coming here due to manufacture because of huge domestic demand.
Apart from this we should concentrate on our strengths in the service sectors like outsourcing, application development where China is aiming to gain a bigger share. (We cannot afford to be complacent in these areas, lest we wish to loose out here as well.)

Give permission to start new university and invite foreign investment. Develop interest in basic science in kids. Import of instruments for reasearch sould be duty free. Have a good regulation for education so the corruption will be curbed. |

idea is good ,but who will implement all these?

India should create more infrastructure for researches supported by government and the scientists should be given liberal facilities for researches. Indian scientists working abroad are using the facilities of the countries where they do researches. We should welcome all Indian scientists working abroad if they want to work in India and provide facilities for their researches but not to force any one to come to India and work. The steps taken by ISRO is encouraging. They have opened university to train students on ISRO account with secured job offer. Let us follow such examples. |

Currently in India, around 30 research institutes are existed. As compared to China, Japan and other developed countries it is very very less. Increase the number of universities and institutes like IITs, IIITs, IISCs, IIMs etc., so that India can meet not only the requirements of Indian populations but also the domestic problems. This resolves all the problems such as infrastructure building, knowledge migration, etc. I hope, the Government concentrate more initiations to start institutes and universities based on research and development. |

In present scenario we can see a lot of Indian Scientists work for other countries. The Government should provide facilities and funds for Research and Development in India. So Scientist will stay back in India and work for India, so we can become no:1 in Science and Technology |

Yes learn from your own mistakes and don't be afraid of committing one, But keep one thing in mind that you don't have to commit the same mistake the next time. Take guidance from your neighbour as well as from those who have the same educational, social, cultural, ideological and financial background like you. Though you might not find all the attributes in others but you can relate to a larger extent to some of them. By following this evolve your own self. For example India has evolved to some extent that it is the IT and ITES sector which will make you World no.1. Likewise you can find other areas also. We can choose those sectors in which the Govt. inteference in any form is minimal. If we work on them than our becoming economically and Science & Technologically world no.1 will be faster. So in the end evolution is the name of the game. |

Fist of all, Our Government should focus more on the Science Subject and on the Research side. They should increase the stipend or any scholarship amount which is related to the Research Work.At present, it is evry less. Second, This will increase the chances of students opting for the Science stream. Third, The Country should look afetr the candidates who are conducting Research & thus, our chances of being successfull will increase. |

TIME FOR CHANGE AND TIME TO UNITE AND FIGHT SO AS TO MAKE INDIA A MAHAN AND MODERN BHARAT. |

Sharp focus on basic or fundamental scientific research in the long-run can push us up on the S&T ladder. We are ninth today because of the sagacity of our leaders like Nehru. We can be number one in the long-run if our universities and research institutions are able to produce best results. Nations who are good today all have been through the grind. We also need to go through that. |
