How can we adopt LEED guidelines for existing buildings?

By improving the insulation used in the building we can lake it more energy efficient thus reducing the costs of running air conditioning or heating as per the climatic conditions

We have LEED rating system for various kinds of constructions like commercial, Homes (New), Existing Buildings (Interiors), etc. Of these we can select the Interiors rating sysytem and go in for ratings. Moreover, talks were on to introduce rating systems for existing buildings if the same are brought into force then it would be much more easier.

Leed (Leadership in Energy Efficient Design) gives the certification of Green building, but even if your building is not certified but saves energy is considered to be green building or you can name it as "Sustainable buildings" which utilises present resources taking into considerations the future savings of resources.

LEED Rating systems has given directions how to obtain rating for Existing buildings.

We only can facilitate our coming generation by providing them better living atmosphere,which will be more inclined towards usage of non conventional energy sources and natural sources,which still we are having full of.

There is few Important ways of converting simple structure in to nature friendly structure,like Direction of the structure,wind direction,orientation of living area etc,there can be lot more option to explore and discuss in this regards,

Opening sizes of windows and vents should be sufficient so that during daylight no artificial lighting is utalised ,saving energy.Good ventilation may also save energy.Some greenery may be developed depending in sorrounding or some of the building area to keep it weather proof.water body may also run through .
