From theses points of view, travellers cheques seem to be the safest mode of payment abroad. Lots of seasoned travellers use travellers cheques as an innovative, low cost way of hedging against the risk that travel funds won’t be available. Here, we get a physical, tangible store of value. Something we can hold on to, that’s usable without a PIN, and is not subject to telecommunications breakdowns, or computer failures or ATM availability. Better still, it allows travellers to budget their money. We can look at our wallet or purse and see what we’ve spent and what’s left. Travellers cheques can also be easily replaced. American Express, for instance, promises replacement of lost or stolen travellers cheques virtually anywhere in the world usually within 24 hours and we don’t need to worry if we have leftover cheques at the end of a trip since they don't have an expiry date. We can keep them, cash them or put them back into our bank account. Travellers cheques come in a number of currencies, though US dollar cheques are widely accepted at banks. |

common rishi,
u dont want to go with ur dress. thats stupidity. our country is not in that bad situatuion man. come to south u can find they prefer as much gold possible over dress. and at the same time i believe thay are in the safe zone here in southpart.
Yeah TC is a good option when traveling a foreign country because its being used more often, but traveling in India cash is must and a safer option, never carry gold, rings anything which looks expensive including dresses.

ATM Cards are also useful since it can be used for purchasing and is acceptable in many places. But one important point to note that there is some occasions where we can not replace money with cards or cheque for some emergencies, small payment or for taxi fare. So it is better to have a money belt which can be fit into the waist. It can be covered with clothes also. |

International ATM cards are a big convenience. They offer safety and flexibility. In case of need, you can get a friend/relative to replenish the account.

Due to the implementation of core banking solutions by almost all the banks in india carrying your cheque book with core banking account number is enough for travel in india because you can find your bank in most of the places you visit in India. In case of foreign travel, International ATM card is sufficient because you can transact in any country with your card subject to RBI regulations. Credit card is the last option as the card issuer will charge interest from day one of your transaction |

Exactly so. By-the-way, before U leave ur base location, dont forget to arrange required balalces required in ur account.
Otherwise, credit card may be handy, though a bit costly. Remember to keep cheque book and Card to keep safe while travelling.

Increasing numbers of foreign retailers are choosing not to accept travellers cheques these days, preferring electronic payments using credit or debit cards, or prepaid travel cards. The more traditional way of taking money abroad – in the form of travellers cheques – now appears outdated. But are prepaid travel cards a better option In many places, traveller’s cheques are only useful for changing into local currency at a banks or bureau de change. The range of currencies offered as traveller’s cheques is also limited. But with the help of Prepaid cards,We can draw money out at any compatible ATM. We can pay for goods in shops just as you would with any other card. It is accepted anywhere displaying the Visa logo. We don’t have to carry ID with you in order to get cash, as you would with travellers cheques. They help you to stay within your budget. They are safer than using your own credit or debit card abroad. |

Credit cards are very handy on such occasions. If you need more funds, you can always augment the funds by transferring funds to the creidt cards through internet banking. |

i think carrying ATMs is more than enough with some cash in hand.Since most of places we have got ATMs and they are accessible at all times regardless of any holidays, when banks are not open. |

On one hand where Moody's downgraded the outlook on India's banking sector to 'negative' from 'stable' S P said it is right according to international standards. At this time every one has different views on the same subject and we have to decide... |
We never know what can be next. All we need to do is to be ready for the rainy day. Save as much as you can. |
So the trend again looks gloomy. Markets are at all time low. Economy again hit. Do you think we are heading towards another recession? |
