According to Lucknow Jal Sansthan estimates, as 20% water goes waste due to leakages, the city loses 96 million litre daily. Further, an estimated around 50 million litre of water goes waste daily in commercial and government establishments as well as officers’ colonies due to negligence. This is the condition of only one city "Lucknow" but the same condition is in thousands of other cities of India daily probably even more than that. Daily water is being wasted like anything.

This at a time when a need is felt for conservation of water and stress is being laid on rainwater harvesting. We live in a country where in many places, people even kill each other for two drops of water. In many places like desert areas of Rajasthan and Gujrat, people walk long distances just to fill up 1 pot of water daily. In the same country, we are wasting water as worthless. So users, what do you think should be done to stop this wastage of water in our country?

I think government should give a fixed quantity of water to every house daily, more than which the house need to pay for. In this way, there will be no wastage of water
