It is very much necessary in today's work scenario to have a frequent parties to relax our bodies from the hectic work schedules we have. A man who is working at least 10 hrs a day, who best friend is his colleague or who misses the small-small happiness in his life because of his work-time, who feels his office is his his second home and colleague as family, is definitely overworking and these kind of people should assemble frequently whenever they get little time from their work and should celebrate in whatever way they can to refresh their body and mind and avoid going hospitals... |

I shall go with Nikhil. Work schedule is also a part of one's life. Enjoying your work will also let you to enjoy your life..
Too a certain extent if not frequent partying and socialising at least squeeze out the maximum time resource available to catch up with a colleague, friend, etc to try and probably discus upon things non related to work which makes you feel a shade better mentally I guess. Its no secret after lone eaves the designated workplace at the end of day mentally the person is still very much there.
Other reasons would be trying to step up the efficiency/output level which puts you in a slightly better frame of mind, try and create a great deal of transparency at work and on a personal note one has to be organised anyways in terms of trying to create an equilibrium on professional & personal agendas.
yeah , grover .... sports ... hard core ..

A different approach . . . Many of us are wondering or worrying about life by dumping the mind with future and past things. Thinking of future creates fear and that of past creates worry. If the mind is in 'present' then there comes the real happiness. All the burden and hence the health problems are results of Poor control of our brain. Technically speaking 'don't crowd-up the RAM much else the system will hang on'. We have to realize that the ultimate goal of all things happening around us is nothing but for the 'search of peace'(an emptiness in the mind). In that search we all get confused with the thoughts of past and future (crowding the mind). Its of 0% use in thinking of them. There is a well-known cure for this - the 'Meditation'. By properly and consciously practicing it, it'll definitely showcase the 'life's purpose'. Once we know the core purpose of existence it'll create inner peace, save a lot of energy, beautify love-cum-relationships, aid our ambitions, control the emotions and let us to manage men and matter well whatever the situation arises. Even just by following 'Take it Easy' policy and being conscious of the present will make us happy and peaceful whatever hectic the life is. Let the past experience drive us, the future goals show the path and lets be fully in present. Thats all needed. Simply 'Stillness is Happiness'. Earth has given us an opportunity to have a wonderful experience termed 'Life' and lets "Enjoy every moment of it".

Umashankar amazing idea. The explanation and examples stated were outstanding.
I support you. A person should be conscious of what he is doing and should know what will be the impact for that. So, do whatever you want that makes you happy but be conscious that what you do should not affect anybody and your work.
Well said !! , live every moment !!

Life is enjoyable at all times if we don't have T&Cs attached to it. Whether it is office, home, friends, etc. let us make the goal as enjoyment. What we generally tend to do is seeking enjoyment from the outside world - boss, colleagues, family, etc. but one should understand that happiness, life, peace is hidden within ourselves and not elsewhere. How many of us feel that "if I could change my boss' behaviour, I would be so relaxed" or "if my package goes to XXXX, I will living a cool life" or "if I get this project, my CV will get so boosted". But how many of such things can actually happen, and that too on our WILL. So, let us keep the conditions separate, love life, love work, and love people. Laugh and make others laugh. I don't see anybody getting tired of laughing and enjoying full out of life. |

Since human minds are different, attitudes are different ,the conditions for enjoyment are also different.Enjoyment is directly proportional to one's inner satisfaction....there is no parameter for mind,body,spirit,passion....

Well, at my company we are a pool of 20 Business Analysts. We have a policy of going out for lunch or dinner as a group once a month. This both serves as break from the monotony of work and helps to establish a healthy work life balance. Apart from this, any kind of celebration in the team, we have a snacking party where in all the available members in the group go out for a snack party in the foodcourt in the workplace campus. |

When I have very hectic work week, My method of relaxation is to take trip on mountain side with my partner and climb an uphill terrain. Two things get achieved here, when you make the climb to the top its the feeling of achievement and what I can face for the next week at the office and other one is to enjoy the quietness and nature around you. There are office groups who does arrange these trips in Bangalore for the weekend. |

All the idea posted here is good. But why we are think its hectic?. When we do our work as a profile, then its happen. Are we can ask a professional singer or sportsmen, to that " Is it boaring to do the job?" . Then the definitly answer must be NO. Becoz its their passion. So how can they get boared. Like that if you enjoy to work then there is no need of struggling with work pressue. But for that " WE NEED TO DO OUR WORK AS A PASSION NOT PROFILE" |

When there is a regular exercise in our lifestyle it will certainly make the body, mind active and take off the daily day stress, tiredness due to hectic work schedule. The exercise can be from daily walk for 30 mins to working out at gym. Doing an active exericise will refresh the mind and keep the body going for the work ahead every day morning. When the body , mind is sound it can certainly handle some extra work schedule and also enjoy the life with a healthy body |

One can have an active office social club which conducts group events for the entire team on monthly / quarterly intervals. The social club can conduct events like Group collage, antakshari, what' the good word, Pictionary Quiz, Treasure Hunts etc. which allows the team members to engage in team building and fun activities apart from the daily routine of work. |

There cannot be any set formula for this. However, a degree bof relief can be achieved by keeping some of the points in mind : 1. Office's work should never be carried to home. 2. Office's problem should not be discussed at home. 3. Efforts should be made to compartmentalise the mind ( though next to impossible ) into two, one to be used in office and the other to be used at home. The worries of office should be left at office only. 4. Ways should be devised to make the work funnier and lighter. 5. Certainly the superiors should take the responsibility of making the work lighter. 6. The schedule to enjoy should never be compromised with . |

One is not supposed to experience stress at work places if ones cognition prototype is well formed. Then hectic activivities at work place happen due to bad planing of work, like wrongly designed targets or work compeltion times where by work keep piling up one over the other. There should be specific time limits for completing each work and the target must be functional outcomes, so that one need not have to worry and learn when working rather execute mechanicaly contompranious work and the rest of the work must be planing for future works or the mission one is involved in. Stress is caused by random work patterns without any prototype for work norms fixed culturaly. Partying and all will be stresful if done without compteting or fulfiling functional outcomes. Excess drinking too often done can be stresful. Work done from work place learning is the cause of stress and it can be avoided provided one can cognate properly at work place. |

Work-life balance is a broad concept including proper prioritizing between career and ambition on one hand, compared with pleasure, leisure, family and spiritual development on the other. As the separation between work and home life has diminished, this concept has become more relevant than ever before. The terms work/life balance and balanced-life are commonly used to describe various aspects of life satisfaction. Symptomatically, among the life maladies attributed to lack of balance are feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities, feeling guilt at shirking family in favour of work or vice-versa, lacking control over one’s life, and feeling unfulfilled by life’s responsibilities and roles. The core issue for many people dissatisfied with life is poor alignment of their roles and responsibilities with their fundamental building blocks of well-being. Each person arrives pre-loaded with the components required for a happy, successful life. This can be seen by observing children at play. Given the appropriate supportive environment, young children naturally gravitate to activities they enjoy. They’re pre-programmed to enjoy life, and have little trouble aligning themselves with fulfilling activities until adults superimpose restrictions and “must-do” structure on their lives.
