First the media needs to consiously advertise this day, like other days ( mother's day, no-tobbaco day. Toilet day!! ). Competitions and good prices (really good ones) will encourage peple to participate.. There's actually a national award for extraordinary teachers and journalists who promote science. Did you know about it? You could win up to two lakh rupees, if you've really promoted, explained and talked about science in India. Would you compete for that prize? How would you, when no one's told you? |

It will do & help a lot to serve the purpose of observing a science day.

state and central governments must encourage the scientific bent of mind in the students by instituting a prize for best innovative science display at school,college, university, city, state and national levels and may name the prizes after recognised scientists at each level.

Why only Governments? how about Banks Sudershanrao garu, MNC's and any other profit making business who would like to promote themseleves into the market and has some budget to do so. They could segment the idea to School level, college level, university level,business level etc and may be a magazine which describes how the idea is supported in making it a big and bringing the awarness of "creativity" in social/science/methodology/procedures ehancements and development.This would be a first step to begin with

All the schools of any locality should be encouraged to participate in inter school, inter collage, inter university, etc. science model competition. It should be made an annual affair and it should be carried out to national level. The age groups can be formed for fair competition. The secondary boards, universities, UGC, etc. should make it a big event. The event should be highlighted to make all the parents & children to look forward to the event. |

Invite Nobel prize winners from other countries and also UNESCO. Conduct conferences / seminars inviting all , particularly, young minds interested in pursuing research. Make it a Melaa through wide MULTI MEDIA coverage. Many a research oriented program can be simultaneously organized by NSL (National science Library), DST(Dept of science & Technology), CSIR etc.
At schools and college exhibitions can be organized to motivate children.

At State Level/District Level/& Mandal Level the government should promte this prize amount so that the awareness of "creativity" would blossom, if the prize amount for the creativity in science is announced only at national level there would be no participants in this event, they may give up thinking that we may not reach upto that level or who will promote our creativity to national level.

First declare the day as a holiday for every one to remember and then make it u will get the success. I know for the fact that the idea may sounds ridiculous but to get it done this may b tried
