In my view, the solution is by abolishing article 370 which prohibits non-kashmiris from buying lands in Kashmir. This will help other Indians to buy land in kashmir and increase the non-muslim population in Kashmir. Also, by making ex-servicemen in defense after the abolishment of article 370, the Kashmiri Pandits can be protected from local fanatics. Not only this will be beneficiary for Kashmiri pandits but also will be a solution to Kashmir issue in India and Pakistan |

I totally agree with Namrata on the subject. Actually the Article 370 should have been abolish by the government in order to boost the health of Kashmir as stated by Namrata.
Spot on Namrata! J&K is a state in the Union, and should have the same rights and responsibilities as other states. Identical laws and rules should apply - at least from today if not over 60 years earlier. If people from Kashmir have the right and do settle across India, so should people from elsewhere in India be allowed to in Kashmir. Integration is to be practised - and not merely lip-service. Only then can this apartheid be eliminated.
When India denounced apartheid in SA, why practice it at home?

Vote bank politics is the single biggest reason for this situation to continue. Of course abolition of Art 370 should be one of the first things to happen. Every day of its existence is a reminder of lack of decisive resolve. We claim J & K as part of India and yet allow different laws to run the state. Center and state could neither prevent or protect the Kashmiri Pandits, from mass exodus nor do anything to reestablish them back is sufficient to indicate lack of will and ability with people claiming themselves as leaders. The need is to firmly deal for once and decisively. |
