How can we stop the spamming that happens on Mobile phones??

Don't you think that there is to much of a spam that happens on your mobile phones than at your email addresses. The thing is that they call you if not they definitely flood your inbox with text messages... and its getting out of hand for that matter with so much spam happening....and there is every sort of advertisement that one gets from builders, insurance and investment companies, vaastu and fitness experts to sauna belt and geyser manufacturers -- has turned to bulk text messages, taking the daily junk SMS count across the country past 100 million lately....

And that count is only set to grow further as more customers take to mobile phones and according to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), the number of wireless subscribers in India increased to 671.69 million by June-end from 653.92 million in May.  So, how can we stop the spamming that happens on Mobile phones??

I mean people should have this option, if it is not there then it is like a crime and marketing in a bad way where people are getting bugged up by it and though Trai has brought down the unwanted calls but has not done anything to moot down the number of SMS's that one receives for that matter...so there should be an option to block particular numbers from which unwanted spamming happens on mobile phones............

I am in total agreement with you on this. Ultimately the customers who pays for the service should have the option for change the way they want.

DND facility like in e-mails

Mobile service providers shouls have a spam blocking service - Do not Disturb facility - like in e-mails. Once a number is reported to the DND facility, it should get blocked from sending any messages or dialling calls.

Accept it as Part of Life

True. Just Accept this as a small liability which exists in modern life style. 

Initially I used to get perturbed and annoyed at these intrusions. But eventually I realized that I am getting unnecessarily annoyed and it is better to change my thinking and live without worry. This change of attitude is what I mentioned above.

You can stop unwanted spam calls just by sending one SMS " Start DND" to 1909.
