How can we support Anna Hazare in his protest?

India of 2011 stands as "an inhumanly corrupt, degenerate and criminalized civil society with its middle classes have long sold their souls to the gods of consumerism" to Meera Sharma, a former scientist and professor. She adds that an Egypt style revolution is a distant dream in India, since "a colonial mindset is incapable of thinking in anti-colonial terms. A colonized state cannot be destroyed except by anti-colonial, fundamentally egalitarian attitudes that emerge from an understanding of the role of resistance in history."

Shirin's mother Shanti Bhasin, like many other moms with teenager kids, does not completely agree with her "anger-driven" views, but adds, "Young blood only talks about revolution and that too a violent one, but how many adhere to their thoughts and take an initiative? Do they really care about their country? Yes, we need something like Egypt to make things fall back on track. Egypt's gandhigiri-style revolution is a must. We cannot go for bloodshed, it will only aggravate the troubles."

Many of the students' knowledge on,:Lokpal Bill" may be little or nil. As an Educator, students can be made know of the ,"Pros & Cons" of it. Possibly , with the help of Public Administration / Political science dept, a seminar / conference can be organized so that, Students come to know of the Ombudsman business.

Anna has rejuvenated the fight against corruption .The recent movement started by him is another effort to modernize our democratic system and expose the corrupt at high positions. The growing  support to this non political movement clearly indicate that the masses don't trust politicians any more.

Along with this fight against corruption, we also need to expose the fraudulent promises
of economic growth made by our present Government. There is an urgent need to guide
the economic growth rightly towards self- sufficiency and employment for every one

The path shown by Anna Hazare proves what individual can fruitfully do to change a rotten society-the theme is 'Be Earnest while being Honest'-We have to strive in full earnest to effectively put a society 'free of corruption'-It is the responsibility of each and every individual of this country to be sincere to his/her conscience in daily life in whatever we do - Be bold and courageous to face resistances.The collective effort shows that what people can do to change the society and bring in healthy thought process. It is not enough if we show solidarity to the agitation alone, however encouraging though-We should all take a few leaves out of the life of this Gandhian - Anna Hazaare - Hats off to him for the principles he has set for himself and pursued successfully while preaching 'Non-violence'-It should be a lesson our politicians never forget.
