I actually feel like asking "CAN WE HELP HOMELESS CHILDREN" But ..

Today while going through news I saw an article and was amazed.. A woman adopted 66 children living on platforms , lying in garbage and so on.. Manan Chaturvedi, 35, would probably have become a top fashion designer earning fabulously and living in style. But she chose not to and dumped midway her promising career in fashion designing. Under the banner of her organisation, Surman Sansthan, Chaturvedi has found ways to raise the much-needed money. She paints and organizes painting exhibitions. The money thus raised goes into children's education and other expenses. Her mission has so far received no support from the government. Not many of us might have courage to do what she did. but lets talk about alternative ideas here.

No talks only concrete ideas please...

Be responsible

idea posted by Gargi Sinha Senior Consultant, Hewitt Associates

When we find any such kid we should act responsibly and hand them over to NGO who may support them. Those who can give financial help should do that and we should actively take interest in any activity going on to help them. ( I really don't have anything much to say but expect that I will get some good and concrete ideas)

I too support this idea.  If anybody finds such a kid who has been stranded, should be handed over to NGO, so that, his/her life will be secured.

Be Empathetic

Because a child is homeless doesnt mean they have to be shunned around. More than monetary help, it is important to understand them, be with them, play with them, teach them clean living, teach them an art/ craft and make them independent so they can live with their heads held high. Each child has a disturbing background, and that can be made positive with love and understanding

Join up and open shelters

idea posted by Jaygopal Raghavan Marketing Manager, Landmark Group
If you are unable to do it single handedly, join up with a couple of friends and form shelters for the homeless children. Enlist support of your relatives and friends to alternatively teach both formal subjects as well as alternate streams to generate revenue.

Better design of Economy

idea posted by Mathew Cherian Research Associate/Analyst, Western Michigan University
Children get dislocated due to parents disowning them or parents ill affording their own ability to sustain. This tendency need be eradicated through better social security or social insurance policies and opportunities for employment generation for all classes of people, with credits for low income couples to build homes to bring up kids, may be low interest loans for long maturity will help. Once a child is found dislocated he or she should be picked up and send to child shelters which need be built up around the major locations where this phenomenon is highly persistent.

Punish Those who are responsible for Homelessness

idea posted by Charles davison Project Manager, Douglas OHI LLC
Homeless and beggars arise due to social neglect It is the Politicians ,Money lenders and land graberrs and the like responsible for the state of homeless. Since it is the same politicians who are responsible for making the law, all laws are having loopholes and therefore there must be a debate whether Supreme court can be given powers to make laws for punishing the powerful. unless that is done this tribe will increase

Social Responsibility of the organisations, Govt. and the people as a whole

idea posted by Srinivas suravajhala Asst. Manager.
The irresponsible behaviour and lust of the young men and women are the major contributing factor in addition to the poverty for this trend. Successive Govts. are failing to find an answer for poverty in this country. The new economic policies making the rich people richer and poor people poorer. Govts. have to take constructive steps to completely eradicate poverty. Private business houses shall adopt measures and respond to this problem as a part of their social responsibility policy. Society as a whole positively shall respond to control this problem.

The black money that the govt is palnning to bring from Swiss bank can be utilised for the purpose. We can suggest the Govt how to use that black money for good work, otherwise it will again become black.
